HornTeacher
didn't Sly also judge some DCI contests this summer? Wow. When did Mr. Stallone become active in the Drum Corps world??
GeneralTsoChicken
Hmm... Currently active: Shaw as brass arranger, with Crown's teaching staff (plus DVD) You do realize Crown actually got better when DVD left, right?

jjeffeory
You do realize Crown actually got better when DVD left, right? Well, DVD put the system in place, why stay there when others have learned the system so well? He went off to what, Madison and Troopers? Didn't Madison score real close to Crown's brass in Allentown? Edited September 24, 2014 by jjeffeory
mingusmonk
Well, DVD put the system in place, why stay there when others have learned the system so well? He went off to what, Madison and Troopers? Didn't Madison score real close to Crown's brass in Allentown? Noted. While statistically accurate, the statement was a tad disingenuous. But it should also be noted that ... while Matt Harloff would absolutely credit DVD's contributions and influence, Matt has evolved things into a system that he can now call his own. Oh, I can agree with that too, but we shouldn't just forget and dismiss the originator of the system as I felt the person I was responding to had. I know that Matt Harloff is an excellent educator too.
