Favorite Championship Show since 2004

Assuming you mean 2006 Cavies, I agree. That's by far my fave of their custom-written music. Truly a great show top to bottom.

Not to burst your bubble, but it wasn't all custom. The 2nd mvt was from Wynton Marsalis' piece called "Sweet Release".

Wow so many good shows.

E=MC2 is going to hold a special place in my heart forever and we all know why....

Spartacus was great as well.

I liked 007 better than Machine simply based on the musical selections.

The Zone was right up there too as a great "ahead of it's time" drum corps show.

2008 Phantom goes down as my top 2 show of ALL TIME. So naturally its my top pick since 2004. 1975 MAdison Scouts was my number 1 of all time.

As far as 2004 and up goes Cavies 2004 is a very close second to Phantom. That show rocked as well as 2006 Cavies. Great shows.

I agree with what someone else said. BD's shows are largley forgettable. The ones they won with anyways. I really can't remember much about them.

Of the championship shows from 04-13, I would rank Cavaliers 06 as the best show, as well as my favorite. In order, I would put them

However, I would give 2005 Cadets a 99.5 and 2010 Blue Devils a 98.5. They are all really phenomenal shows.

1. Crown 2013 - I'm a brass guy and that legendary sound I heard at DCI MN still gets to me. It's a silly show concept, but the designers took it seriously and gave the performers a great show to believe in.

2. Phantom 2008 - MUSICAL/VISUAL OWNAGE!!! Yeah, it wasn't squeeky clean or perfectly designed, and you could make an argument for BD that year, but still ... there's so much ownage in this show I want to cry.

3. BD 2010 - Undefeated for a reason. Show doesn't get nearly enough credit for the musical/visual risks taken.

4. Cadets 2011 - All-time favorite Cadets show. They took a concept that's insanely difficult to materialize and made it look easy.

5. Cavies 2004 - Just a fun, simple, engaging, well-designed show. My favorite behind 2002 and 2000.

6. BD 2012 - See 2010. Not as game-changing, but I loved its playfulness.

7. Cavies 2006 - Brilliant visual effects. Didn't care for the source music or brass arrangement.

8. BD 2007 - Shouldn't have won, but pretty fun.

9. BD 2009 - Deserved to win, but boring as sin.

10. Cadets 2005 - My God, 2005 was such a crappy year for drum corps. Yeah, Cadets easily deserved to win, but it wasn't exactly a competitive field.

Cadets 2005- Most Dominate Corps in DCI History!

Crown 2013- Smart enough to change their style to fit the times! ( If BD would have won I would put them here or 3rd)

Phantom 2008- Emotion, Passion, Execution (pardon the pun)

Cadets 2011- I was fortunate enough to be there. Wow! What a show! What a Corps!

Cavaliers 2004- Cool, Slick, Exciting

Cavaliers 2006- Fun Exciting Entertaining!

BD 09,10,12- It's all a blur of chairs, mirrors and stuff

I agree - a lot of forgettable stuff from BD (other than phenomenal performance levels). I DEARLY Miss the BD of 1997-2006 (well, except 2005). Of the 2nd Placers, if Faust had prevailed, it would be in my top 4, easily. Crown's 2009 would also have bumped down 6-10.
