bluesman
Is it better mic placement tonight or did Crossmen just sound infinitely better than Blue Stars?
Precious Roy
Accurate. Why not go for the cheap pop? I believe they call it "soda" in that part of PA.
Kamarag
They are showing the Essentials Volume 3 spot (I can still play The Lick from Suncoast '85). I watched some of it this afternoon and it is outstanding, well worth the purchase.
euphjock
Really like Crossmen this year. I'm especially digging the arrangements. I'm assuming Chuck Naffier is still writing for them. Good, good stuff!!
Kamarag
I believe they call it "soda" in that part of PA. A "cheap pop" is a wrestling term for shamelessly pandering for applause, like when Mick Foley would end a promo line with, "...right here, in Allentown, PA!" Musicman1084
Yeah, no chance the Crossmen are going to lose that 12th spot this year. Not with less than a week until finals.
Bannedforlife
Is it better mic placement tonight or did Crossmen just sound infinitely better than Blue Stars? Not so fast. Crossmen have a lot of open 5ths on their sustained chords that are not difficult to tune. Blue Stars have a harder book and some difficult staging but Crossmen's brass does not outperform Blue Stars IMHO
Slingerland
Yea, Crossmen have the last spot locked up. They also have a better show than Scouts too, though it's not performed as well. Agreed. Battery was suspect tonight, but the overall structure of the show is tighter than Scouts this year. euphjock
"Is it better mic placement tonight or did Crossmen just sound infinitely better than Blue Stars?" I was going to say the same thing. All groups have a better ensemble blend tonight.
