Pete Freedman
Finally someone posted the panels... No. Here is the master finals list, per George DIxon. 2014 World Championship Judging Panels World Championship Prelims Thursday, Aug. 7 General Effect 1: Marie Czapinski, Sly Sybilski General Effect 2: Randy Greenwell, Glenn Fugett Visual Performance: Juno Orefice Visual Analysis: Ken Giese Color Guard: Lee Carlson Brass Performance: Paul McGarr Music Analysis: Albert Lo Percussion: Jeff Prosperie Percussion 2: Alan Dunn World Championship Semifinals Friday, Aug. 8 General Effect 1: Richard Kemp, Mike Anderson General Effect 2: Wayne Dillon, Mark McGahey Visual Performance: Jim Sturgeon Visual Analysis: George Oliviero Color Guard: Michael Turner Brass Performance: Steve Page Music Analysis: David Carbone Percussion: Martin Griffin Percussion 2: Rick Rodriguez World Championship Finals Saturday, Aug. 9 General Effect 1: Michael Stone, Mickey Kelly General Effect 2: Nola Jones, Jay Kennedy Visual Performance: William Chumley Visual Analysis: Debbie Torchia Color Guard: Robert Solomon Brass Performance: Jeff Harper Music Analysis: Garland Markham Percussion: Allan Kristensen Percussion 2: Caleb Rothe And here are "current" WGI judges per WGI's website. Marie Czapinski Sly Sybilski Ken Giese Jeff Prosperie Mike Anderson Jim Sturgeon George Oliviero Michael Turner David Carbone Marty Griffin Nola Jones Michael Stone Jay Kennedy William Chumley Robert Solomon Caleb Rothe I count 16. So then Michael Stone, Mickey Kelly, William Chumley, and Robert Solomon only for Finals, for only 4/11 judges. This does appear to be most of the visual judges. However, referring to "WGI people" as if that category had some inherent bias is unfair. First of all, even if there were a bias in favor of whatever you think WGI does differently, that would primarily affect only those judges who started at WGI before adding DCI to their judging experience. I mean, if a DCI judge for 20 years decides to add WGI to the resume, apparently that makes them a WGI person.
mingusmonk
I think this can go a little ways in showing that "those couple of WGI judges are skewing numbers" is likely a myth. Wish I had time to work the numbers. And this only accounts for current WGI judges. I know some others on this week's panel have done their time judging WGI and sub-circuits that use the identical sheets. I'm not buying it right now.
Jeff Ream
Mike Stone Mickey Kelly Mike Anderson Michael Turner Robert Soloman William Chumley Jim Sturgeon That's the 7 judges that do both wgi and dci. That will judge this weekend. Mickey does DCA too. the horror (insert sarcasm)
Jeff Ream
If Prosperie is a WGI judge, I don't mind WGI judges. so is Griffin, and he's the DCa percussion caption head. also ran 40+ at prelims last year with no sub box tie. jeff's army training will hopefully pay off today LOL

It was shown last year that all or most of the "WGI judges" gave BD perfect scores in 2012, while nobody else did. However, it wasn't clear whether they judged everyone higher or just BD. In other words, do WGI judges tend to judge higher in general? To my knowledge nobody has demonstrated conclusively that WGI judges bias toward different performances than non-WGI judges. But that would be one explanation for 2012.
