The "Music Corps Should Do" thread

I know we've had lots of these before, but I don't want to dig them back up. I'm hoping that people will put up pieces that have never-or at least, rarely-been done. Any genre is fine, and feel free to say which corps would fit best with the piece. My list, which I'll probably update from time to time.:

Orchestral pieces
Low Symphony—Philip Glass (any corps, please just do it)

The Black Maskers-Roger Sessions (my favorite is from 18:30 on...would be a great intro to a show)

Wind Ensemble/Brass Ensemble pieces
Baron Cimetiere’s Mambo (thanks to Nikk for commissioning this one)—Donald Grantham
Trauersinfonie—Wagner (could be an instant classic for Phantom just like Elsa's Procession)

The Place Where Dreams Come True James Horner

Other
Our Prayer—Brian Wilson (Crown or the Cadets)

Jazz Spanish British For the love of God, wont someone PLEASE play something different than the usual over arranged symphonic drivel that every Corps is playing???

How old are you? I’m going to assume 60+ based upon your postings.  “and...cleavage.” Really? You do know the age of the women who march, right? That’s downright gross on your part. Ewwwwww

Seriously good idea. Drum Corps is totally too over intellectual. There's simply no way to market Drum Corps to the masses. One of many reasons DC has died is the music, drills, and theatrical element

Santa Clara Vanguard - Fiddler on the Roof or Phantom of the Opera

Blue Devils - Channel One Suite, Legend of The One Eyed Sailor, Chase The Clouds Away, Squib Cakes

Phantom Regiment - Shostakovich's 7th

Cavaliers - Russian Christmas music, Once Upon a Time/Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Madison Scouts - Slaughter On 10th Avenue, MacArthur Park, The Way We Were

Bluecoats - Bridge Over Troubled Water

haven't almost all of those pieces been played... a lot?

I agree with Low Symphony... that is some seriously cool stuff. I think SCV or BK would be able to pull it off very nicely.

Someone should try Phillip Sparke's Dance Movements.

I think Lance said that, but I could be wrong.

Keith and everybody else can put whatever they want. I'd rather get oral surgery than hear any of his list on the field ever again by anybody, but I'm sure others think the same of my little list.

Well. . .at least one piece on your list is full of win as far as I'm concerned; the Jongen piece has Phantom Regiment written all over it.
