ajlemm
The sound guy was the head of sound for Cirque. He's a Bluecoats alum. Jim Moore and Jon Vanderkoff are the two I believe that are a big part of producing Blast. Yep, I remembered that incorrectly.
luv4corps
Why doesn't a smaller group put something amazing, fast, percussiony, brassy and electronicky together and audition for America's Got Talent??? I honestly believe a show with a combination of traditional drum corps and cutting edge modern elements could play the Vegas strip for a long, long time. Look at Cirque. They just keep coming. drumcorpsfever
Blast! had a 2nd run about 3 years ago. I'm so glad we saw them. Incredible performance. It's was also nice to enjoy a great performance without judging mucking up the works!
mingusmonk
" Blast " had a great run. It lasted 15 years ( 1999-2014 ) which was 6 years longer than Star of Indiana lasted in DCI ( 1984- 1993) ' Won a Tony Award in 2001 ( " Best Special Theatrical Event " ) and an Emmy Award ( " Best Choreography " ). That was a wonderful production. How are you defining "run?"
BRASSO
How are you defining "run?" "15 years of touring"... why do you ask ? Edited August 11, 2015 by BRASSO

ouooga
Las Vegas local here. Blast! needs to be a dedicated Strip show rather than a touring event, a la Cirque.
Northern Thunder
Las Vegas local here. Blast! needs to be a dedicated Strip show rather than a touring event, a la Cirque. Prior to it becoming Blast! it was Brass Theatre, and they did perform in residency in Branson, MO for an extended period of time.

Now THERE'S a thought..... (I know what you meant, ouooga. Just being a trifle playful here...)
