Quite sure that the Cadets organization, which now has a DCA entry, is aware of that. Heck... C2 had one themselves this past summer. A really good one, too. xandandl
Cadets seek singers for a choir, then Crown seeks a singer for choral piece. Cadets seek a trainer, then Crown advertises for a trainer. Anyone see a pattern developing here??? Cadets seek a transportation manager, then Crown... (Crown takes a stagecoach is not the right answer. That is so last year...!)

Although some judges aren't exactly younger. To have shows that appeal to judges you have to retain the talent who can achieve it. To keep throwing out hackneyed themes and visual fiascos, the Cadets are making it more difficult to recruit championship caliber performers thus relegating the corps to the lower competitive tiers. Plus, the corps around them are appealing to younger people not necessarily legacy fans and alumni. Shows need to be a spectacle now.

Cadets still attract a very talented membership so that's not an issue. Designing to younger audiences, I'm not sure if that's a competitive necessity but rather fresh relevant and cohesive design scores the points. Remember there are many very talented kids out there wanting to march DCI and only a handful of very strong WC groups so the talent in those top 8 groups are pretty fierce. Throw out a few more stinkers like last season consecutively and watch what happens. Remember the Cavaliers when they had their mass exodus of leadership. How long did it take them to become top tier competitive again? The Cadets cannot afford that.
