flammaster
I don't know what it is but it does sound very 19th century. They have a complete different sonority this year from what little I have heard. Reminds me a lot of the type of choral that Crown would use but the soprano voice goes much higher in addition to the great mid and baritone voices.

If this is true, it's not the first time BD has done so (cf. 1998). Edited March 12, 2017 by Cadevilina Crown
KVG_DC
Well not the first time of course, but a departure from recent years' style. BD making a stylistic shift is exciting as they take risks and do innovation well.

Pretty reliable source. , that piece's composer is a mighty handful. ;) BD has found religion, and will do mighty Handel's full " Messiah ". theonlyfizzle
So intrigue.. BD classics 1998 was so beautiful and breath taking was so wonderful and refreshing of them, but BD Classic 2017 is a whole lot different. Intrigued much, indeed!
