I don't know what it is but it does sound very 19th century.  They have a complete different sonority this year from what little I have heard. Reminds me a lot of the type of choral that Crown would use but the soprano voice goes much higher in addition to the great mid and baritone voices.

If this is true, it's not the first time BD has done so (cf. 1998).

Well not the first time of course, but a departure from recent years' style.  BD making a stylistic shift is exciting as they take risks and do innovation well.

I was told what one of the pieces they're playing is. Pretty reliable source.

, that piece's composer is a mighty handful. ;)

BD has found religion, and will do mighty Handel's full " Messiah ".

So intrigue.. BD classics 1998 was so beautiful and breath taking was so wonderful and refreshing of them, but BD Classic 2017 is a whole lot different. Intrigued much, indeed!

To keep the speculation alive, I was told what one of the pieces they're playing is. Pretty reliable source.

I've got to say, that piece's composer is a mighty handful. ;)

I see what you did there. Thanks for the tip

So which composer is it?

What I have heard so far sounds great.

Do you know how the music sounds? Can you tell us the fill of the music?
