I 100% agree with this. Crossmen are the real deal for sure. They have an excellent design and they are executing well. After seeing them the other night, I have definitely moved them up in my rankings from the 9-12 group to the 7-9 group. I think they could finish as high as 7th too.

1-3: BD, Bloo, SCV

4-6: Cadets, Crown, Cavies

7-9: BAC, Crossmen, BK.

10-12: Regiment, Blue Stars, Madison

Also, I don't think we will have 9 corps at 90+.    If so, that might be the most ever at 90+.

It would be the most ever, but it would also be a tie with the three previous years that happened. I've been looking forward to a day when ten corps break 90 (probably not this year); the record score for 10th place is 89.1 -- does anyone know, without looking, what corps, show, and year that was? My first guess was BAC in 2014 which was close in score.  The right answer was my 2nd choice.

I wonder which will happen first: ten corps above 90 in DCI, or eight corps above 90 in DCA?

(DCA has had seven corps at 90+ on eight occasions: 2013, 2012, 2008, 2007, 2003, 2002, 2001, and 1990. Personally, I thought eight corps should have broken 90 in 2016.)

It's amazing how long that particular record has stood. Of course, the best-ever sixth-place score dates from the following year--and I suspect that one won't ever be broken.

Did the same year the highest 6th place score come from also hold the highest 5th place score until 2014?

And yeah, that top 6 was monstrous.  

That 10th place show from the year before that holds the record was super super super ahead of its time.

2009, but yeah, that was a killer top 6. 7th held the record until 2007, too, and still sits in 2nd place.

I'm sitting on a gold mine of "what ifs?" and other silly stat comparisions/projections. One of them is basically creating a "Finals" of every corps finishing in a position at Finals (Top 12 1sts, Top 12 2nds, etc.)  I should start posting them...

EDIT: Looking at the 12th place rankings, I have a bold prediction that 1st place in those rankings will fall this year...
