That seems....unwise with the paper label still on the can.

And yet genius at the same time. Like the whole butter on the bread and then using the bread to butter your corn on the cob thing. I think that was in E.T. if I remember correctly. God I'm old....

Dude....the "use the bread as a utensil on the corn" has been around for a VERY long time.  I mean...maybe it's because I grew up in Indiana, but I don't even recall that from a movie because something like that wouldn't stand out.

😉

Similarly the open can on the fire makes total sense.  I mean, have you never been camping with canned beans?   Twist a coat hanger into a can holder and prop that baby up over the fire.  Warm beans > cold beans.

It's the label catching fire in the house that worries me.

I mean totally valid. I'm from Tennessee so all of our "genius" ideas typically involve beer and fireworks....together

My interest is piqued! Can’t wait to see the changes. I noticed some tweaking to the Rach2  at the LaCrosse show. It’s shaping up to be a real heart tugger.

We are not old, we just got an earlier start at life.

Yeah I've got an uncle who lived in Illinois on those terms who moved down there to Sweetwater, TN and I've seen that combo first hand.   He's ok but one of his neighbors is happy to use both of his hands to count off all 9 reasons he feels fireworks are perfectly safe.

Have you guys not seen the way that batteries literally sit out huge chunks of every show? Most ballads — for example — by most corps, most years, for many decades, have completely ignored the battery. To the point about what the hornline is doing during percussion breaks: Ever notice what most drumlines are doing during most ballads, brass features, etc? When you watch any run of the mill lot video, it’s remarkable how little playing time, comparatively, the battery gets.

The trade-off might be an extra drum feature or so, but that doesn’t mean brass isn’t still the predominant musical focus of DCI. Featuring drum lines more does not = featuring brass lines less.

I'll add, that the PIT is the biggest beneficiary of all of this. There's tacet time for the battery percussion, and now the pit has taken lots of musical focus away from the brass, which allows them to do other things mentioned.

That pause in the closer just before the anticipated height of emotion is KILLER!
