A recent post here made me take a look back in time.  I have been to 24 Finals in 52 years.  That was surprising!  My question is how many Finals have you attended?  And what was your favorite?

My favorite was 1995.  My first!

Performer - 1992 to 1996 (5)
Fan - 1997-1999, 2001, 2021 (5)
Journalist - 2006, 2008-2019, 2021-2023 (16)

Since '92 I've been to 29 (six as a performer). I've only missed Boston in 2005 and Pasadena in 2007. My favorite is still 1992, favorite locations are Madison and Bloomington.

32 and counting. Someday I won't make it. When that day comes, if I'm not dead, I'll be very sad. Can't imagine being anywhere else that weekend.

Favorite year for sure was 2011. All of the top five that year were wonderful, fan-friendly shows. Plus a well-deserved Cadets gold medal.

Favorite location is Indy. Had my doubts originally. Now I know that Indy can't be beat for fan comfort, convenience, etc.

Performer or staffer - 4
Butt in Seat - 24

Madison is still the best atmosphere, but the worst actual stadium (bleachers?) I've come to respect all of the advantages Indy offers in terms of ease of getting to the stadium, affordable parking, decent housing options, etc.

03, 04, 08

I only remember the first 2 and prefer Mile High. Needed friends to help me piece  together my memory, honestly. Was sad to discover last year that the CO show was no longer there. Fond memories of both 04 finals and trying to make the 03 show work there.

Have a friend-alum in Indy so I may try to go next year if I can muster the fortitude. The Midwest isn't my favorite place to visit.

I sat in the stands in Madison in 2006 and realized how uncomfortable that stadium is to sit in. I'm in the minority, but I'm glad DCI doesn't hold Finals there anymore.

2 as a (spectating) nonfinalist, 2 as performing finalist, 2 as a pure (tickets bought) spectator.
