The Cadets are being sued by a former member for alleged sexual abuse in the 80s

To what extent can they turn to the individual perpetrators for financial liability?

I may be incorrect, but I think that because of the way the complaint is written that individual liability would be a different lawsuit (or lawsuits)  The John Does 1-10 seems to be a way to point out that many in Cadets leadership knew what happened but didn’t do anything.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

In retrospect, it was probably never a good idea to mix kids and adults in close quarters and on the road for weeks at a time.

But in Spirit of Atlanta case it was corps members harassing another corps member. So problem either way when you have idiots and no good way to protect people

Well, now we know why the Cadets were not going to afford to go out in 2024...massive legal bills and a potential future court settlement of unknown proportions.

Wait one second here.  The Cadets board chair tells us in a press release that 2024 is off because "budgeted fundraising amounts did not materialize as anticipated".  Is that a lie?  Because if it is, then all that talk about their "transparency" only means they are transparently dishonest.

As was the case with SCV, this had NOTHING  to do with the price of props, uniforms,  tour or spring training. Can we put those false arguments to rest finally?

The principle is the same.  If a corps cannot afford the cost of props, uniforms, tour, spring training and sexual abuse, they should look at eliminating some of that cost.  Starting with the one I underlined.

Be careful. For weeks I’ve been saying there’s more to this story and getting attacked for it.  Now we find out … there was more to the story. Just irritating on so many levels. Not the least of which the veil being dropped on this activity I participated in and loved since I was a teenager. I feel betrayed in some way. Is that a valid feeling?

In other words, DFTK is the foundation of financial stability
