GCityVet
My two favorite warm ups are the Frank Williams octave study(to those of you who have studied under him). And of course, F Tuning(the one that starts on F, not C).

JayM
Has anyone ever done a warmup called "space chords"? We do this in my marching band (UTA) warmup. We play through an F-tuning excercise and then on the chord that leads to the final F major chord, we do the space chord stuff. Star Wars is exactly how I would describe it. We finally build it up really loud and then resolve the chord at FFF. It's crazy fun.
mrshowfan
I hear in 95 BD did a minor F tuning. Does anyone konw the chordal cadence? Obviously it would start out root, fifth, minor 3rd, but I dont know where it goes from there. Unless it is just a basic I-IV-V-I minor chord progression, but I would imagine Downey threw down some other voices on top. Any ideas? Any ideas?Sly I can't tell you the specific chord sequences, but it was a tweaked version of the regular F Tuning made to fit the show concept of that year that Wayne threw in at a rehearsal in San Diego. Evil and Loud. ^0^
FYWW
One of my favorite things to do in a parking lot is watch the Blue Devils warm-up. It's almost like the "show before the show", with all of their exercises and chords. F-Tuning is one of my favorites to play, as long as it is really F-Tuning and not just F-Loud, F-Nasty or F-Annoying. Agreed. Watching John Meehan take the line through a chord tuning sequence during warm-up is what I go to see. Not so much the show it's self. He gets some sounds out of that line that you just never thought were possible. ^0^
