anyone remember the keystoners?

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

In 1985 @ Bucknell stadium in Lewisburg the Milton Keystoners welcomed The Steel City Ambassadors to their uniquely equipted (refrigerated) equiptment truck.....While Hawthorne was playing Malaguena on the field as a victory concert, Steel City was playing Malaguena for the Keystoners outside the stadium. While the corps (Keystoners) were getting beverages lined-up from the refrigerated truck - Steel City blew away both Hawthorne and the Keystoners with the song....After the performance all three corps gathered around Keystoners truck and enjoyed friendship and beverages until the wee hours of the night.....Loved those Keystoners.......

For anyone interested and I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I do have an old vinyl recording that has Keystoners on it......It would have to be early to mid 60's and without pulling it out of my storage, not sure what contest or who else is on the record.......

Don't know if this too old for anyone to see this posting, but.....

I was with the Keystoners from 1953 through 1963 and majored them from 1960 through 1963. If anyone would like to continue this forum, I'd be glad to continue.

in 1987 a group of bluecoats went to the keystoners after DCI finals and marched with them for DCA prelims. I couldn't make the trip, but I know about 8-10 Bluecoats did and I believe they told me it about doubled the size of the corps.

That was well after I was with the Keystoners but from what I've heard some of the people from the junior corps we started (The Commancheros) tried to get things going again but were (obviously) unsuccessful.
