goalieguy
I may be treading on desicration here, but most of my friends from MBI got their start with the old St. Paul Scouts. Most of them had nicknames given to them in their early years with the 'B' corps or when they made the big corps. Among them were: Chico (obviously Latin) Skinny ( 'cause he still is) Jeep (his name was Gene, named after Eugene the Jeep in Popeye) Water ( short for waterbuffalo, he was a pretty large guy) Creek (Water's brother...Big water, little creek) Head Job(your guess is as good as mine) Omar (looked like Sharif) Sieg (short for Siegfried, I think Bernie Kopell's character in Get Smart) Ghetto(cause he grew up there) Rigid (even parade Rest was attention for this guy) Skip (still haven't learned this one, most folks don't know his real first name) Tuna (a derivitive of Tunison, his last name)aka Three-na Iggy Bob( Iggy stands for Ignorant) Some of the old Midwest guys may remember these guys! There are tons of MBI ones, but these are the ones that are most memorable. Some of them have been given more than one, some are better than others. Doones ( her name was Lorna) Corky ( apparently he bobbed like one while marching as a youngster) Big Bruce and Little Bruce (a pair of bass drummers) Bimbo/Simba The Whippet Anoka Flash (everybody knows him) Sipper (cause he was always sippin a beer) Bufu (Ghetto's younger brother) and one of our most famous -' Porkchop' (he tried to grow mutton chop sideburns, and LambChop was just NOT going to work) Some of us will call him Choppy, but his wife calls him PORK !!! Not my favorite..even tho' he's my nephew!! Pat

Goldsmith1210
We had a few nicknames, here are my favorites. Gangles - I swear this guy was made out of wet spaghetti. Army Guy - Wore camo 24-7. I think he is a tank commander in the USMC now. Dead Guy - At some point during the winter this guy stopped coming to rehersals. Some one heard he had died in a car crash. So when he showed up at a spring camp we called him dead guy. Skellator - Another really skinny guy who liked to go shirtless a lot. White Trash - He had a mullet and was from Kelso, Washington. I think he lived in a trailer at some point too. I don't remember if I ever had one or not......
hsreed
Radar and Sonar - brothers, one was a screaming sop soloist and the other played euphonium Ginsiu - last name was Siu and he was a baritone soloist. He could cut through anything because he could play real loud and high. Jellyfish - great player, horrible marcher. Had minimal control of his body and posture. Brainless Brian - we just thought he was dumb. Shut Up Ray - think of the most annoying person you know, multiply it by ten and that's him. Everything he said was annoying and he even looked annoying. We pushed the imaginary "Shut Up Ray" buttons every time we saw him. Tapeworm - This rookie walks into the shower one day. Normally one doesn't look around, but this guy was huge. Non Drum Corps: Three little sisters/friends at my frat during my freshmam year: Muffy, Buffy and Fluffy. BarryM
Squatch - short for Sasquatch - a large guy Gronk - another large guy Tic-Tac - a well-endowed female known for wearing a t-shirt advertising the tiny breath mints. Shall we say the "Tic" and the "Tac" were strategically placed. Honeybags - can't get into the origin of that one, but it had to do with this guy's part time job at a gas station Headly - a shower moniker (see Tapeworm above, only the opposite) Pugsly - a split image of the kid from the Addams family Spike - you'd have to see him - the PERFECT nickname. Red curly hair, hornrimmed glasses, freckles and a voice like sandpaper.
