Scerpella
Blue Stars Is that photographer down front Dick Deihl? I think I recognize that head. Could be Art Luebke as well.
Paq
1972 The Big Ten program, September 2 1972, Hamilton, Ontario(17) Chatelaines, Laval, Quebec Wow Linda great shot of the original Chatelaines. This was a completely different corps than most people remember. Their unis were red and white with gold trim. They folded after 1972. The new Chatelaines (burgundy & pink ones) started up under completely different leadership & instruction. The original Chatelaines were another example of the excellence in girl corps from Quebec around this time. Every year at Canadian nationals some obscure corps would show up from somewhere in Quebec and kick everyone's ###es and then disappear. Old School Contra Guy
Could be Art Luebke as well. It is Art, I commented a couple of pages back. I was there on the sidelines as well that year.
tommyfromhowardst
1972 The Big Ten program, September 2 1972, Hamilton, Ontario(17) Chatelaines, Laval, Quebec As an old triple player I cannot find the words.......this is just wrong!! These people must have angered someone influential. Why would ya' take an already massive instrument and add two more LARGER ones just like it? And strap it on? Rest of the bass line on strike or members were hard to come by...isn't there something in the Geneva Convention outlining this type cruel treatment? Did they do parades? Ok just kidding but really is there a recording of this somewhere? Extinction won this time. lindap
I’m a guard girl but from what I’ve read, these drums were trendy in the late 60’s; as in Boston from page 425… and a discussion on page 1581 about the biggest…drum; http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...667&st=4240 http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...st&st=15800 …and Toronto Optimists 1969 or 1970

I found a photo on a web site; their skirts were navy blue, tunics and flags were red. 1973, Canadian Nationals program, Les Eclipses, Longueuil, Quebec
