some old corps photos

Recommended Posts

Great shot Ron, but I think ya have the wrong year.

I see Lou Best and Chris Mason in that photo, and they were both with the Glassmen in 72.

Looks more like 77 or 78. :)

Plus I don't remember them having the chrome snares in 72..................

(could be "old timers disease"though :P )

yep that's 1977 that's me 4th from the left!

OK, trying to get back to reality.

And to think, people can have that uniform on in 05/06 just blows me away.

Time to start collecting money for my tour. :)

Yup, that skirt design is what, to me, makes that uniform so classy. Not too long, not too short, and it was just full enough to look great during a high mark time. A lot of other skirt designs guards wore just didn't come close . . . including mine. We wore this funny little flared number that never looked quite right on some of the girls (like me). You had to have a certain figure to pull it off. The Kingsmen skirt is a lot more forgiving, because it's fuller from top to bottom, yet lay beautifully, creating a really nice line with the cummerbund.

Sorry about the date on The Kingsmen pic....my typo. Of course it is 77.....I was looking for Tom, Ralph and Lance Kellog, too, and knew it wasn't 77.....forgot to edit.

Lancer Fi.....you can always come out and march with Kingsmen Alumni Corps in 07. The high mark time will still be there. Most of the corps will be true blue Alumni but we will have spots open for folks who might have always wanted a chance to put on the Kingsmen uniform but were unable to due to their own commitments or, in fact, were too young at the time.

Check with http://www.xkingsmen.com about marching a spot in 07.....maybe only one special gig, maybe more.

God, these are great!!! Thanks for sharing. I wish there were some Long Island Circuit (small corps m&m circuit from the '70s) pictures around. Thanks for the memories

Hey Dave-

Is that shot in the middle of some stick work?

I noticed that everybody on Chris's right is the same, to his left not playing , and Chris is....well......... :P ^0^

I'm guessing there was some ripple effect going on right then?
