The Madison Scouts Alumni Reunion Project and the Stadium Bar have officially agreed to host our end of the project party on Saturday, August 12th from 2pm until 2am! Everyone, especially Alum's of the Scouts are welcome join us in our full project "age-out again" party... We'll have 4 large big screens where our performance from the evening before will be played for everyone! The best thing is the potential to "stumble" across the street into the stadium for finals later on - if anyone desires this!

"We're gonna party like it's on sale for 19.99"

LOL

Sounds good to me...

There should probably be individual sticky threads for food and drink near Camp Randall Stadium.

Here are a few restaurants I like around Camp Randall Stadium. I grew up in the Madison area, got one of my degrees there, and visit several times a year. The locals may have additional nearby suggestions.

All these restaurants are casual, inexpensive to reasonably priced, and healthy (Note: any and all dairy products are considered health food in Wisconsin as is any kind of breakfast or sausage :) ). Monroe St. (Madison’s first road dating back to the 1830’s as I remember) intersects Camp Randall.

The Dardanelles - 1851 Monroe Street. 608-256-8804

Mediterranean fare. I haven't been here by my friends like it. From TripAdvisor: "What a find! Since that day we have dined there numerous times. The food is fantastic from hummus to lentil soups to falafal to artichoke and chicken dinner. You can't go wrong. They have a nice jazz brunch on Sunday's and on special occasions the owner will tell your fortune." I wonder if the owner can devine finals scores?

Pasquales – 2534 Monroe St. 608-238-4419 http://pasquales.com/

Very good southwestern food for a town that get so cold in the winter. A good beer list as I recall.

Bluephies - 2701 Monroe St. 608-231-3663

Better quality sandwiches and salads. I’ve had the Jerk Chicken Flatty and the Salmon BTL (Health note: the Omega-3s in the salmon counteract the saturated fats in the bacon - really). All their sandwiches look good. http://www.foodfightinc.com/bluephies.htm

Mickey’s Dairy Bar - 1511 Monroe Street

A classic diner. Been there forever. My Dad used to eat there in the late 40’s. Hasn’t changed a bit. Make sure you try the hash browns, pancakes (all different ways), the smoked bacon, oh and the gyros omelet (I also like the Ruben omelet). Then get a root beer float to go!. Memorable quality in a irreproducible atmosphere for cheap. I did hear rumors they were closing (sadly). The locals here might know. http://www.flickr.com/photos/silvaazniv/183560503/

Michael’s Frozen Custard - 2531 Monroe St. 608-231-3500 http://www.ilovemichaels.com/flavcal.asp

Wisconsin is the Dairy State and Michael’s is representative. Frozen custard is made like ice cream except it also contains egg yokes ("Let's see, how could we make ice cream even more dangerous"). Why is it so good? It’s made fresh every couple of hours , has all-natural flavoring, and no preservatives, and, oh yeah, it has a high butterfat count).

Babcock Dairy Center - 1605 Linden Drive

If high-end Ice Cream is your bag, checkout Babcock Ice Cream. This ice cream is made at the University of Wisconsin Babcock Dairy Science Research Center (state-of-the-art ice cream – artery shocking butterfat levels) http://www.wisc.edu/foodsci/store/ Killer! (literally)! BTW, I have recently been put on a low cholesterol diet (not real bad but getting there). My doctor suggests I don't even think about visting Wisconsin ;-)

I'll put together my bar list one of these days. Would like to hear other picks. We should talk parking sometime as well.

A DCP get-together at finals! What a great idea! Did any fist fights break out last year?

I'll be there.

While there's a number of reasons for this NOT to be an 'official' gathering .... I AM happy to work on getting some nifty

Hi

Hey! This is a great idea..... is DCP having a souvie booth this year? How about them having DCP name tags and selling them for $2 - we can write our DCP names on the tag and then we will know who everyone is! I might even buy a DCP golf shirt. :)
