IllianaLancerContra
A previous post got me thinking- For each Div 1 DCI corps, I wonder what distance the members travel to be with the corps? For example, IIRC, Phantom had no one last season from Rockford. How far away from Rckfird did the closest member live, how far the median, farthest, etc. For example, say a corps has 130 members. How many come from within 25 miles of the corps hall? How many at 50 miles, 100 miles, etc.? If anyone has any interest, post the numbers and I will do the data analysis (I have a heavy graduate school background in statistical analysis) and report back. A complicating factor is when camps are held out-of state. We'll deal with that covariate later if I can get enough data. For now, lets just analyze distances members live from wherever 'spring training' is located (assuming that location is pretty close to where the corps calls home). drumcat
I bet the average for a top corps is 500 miles...
MHSmirage
I know that several corps had international members, too. Southwind had 3 or 4 members from Japan. I think Bluecoats had one from England. I'm sure there are more, just don't know specifics.
Bongomar
This year Phantom Regiment had a dutch guy that played euphonium, Boston Crusaders had a dutch guy in the snareline (his second year), and SCV had a dutch guy on trumpet. There are probally more, but those are the first ones that came up.

rockthebus09
I lived 3 hours from my first corps, and now I'm about 10-12 or so hours away from my new corps. I fly though.

bluecoats88
when I started I was about a half hours from the corps rehearsal site, but then I went to college and it was a good 3 1/2 hours to get to corps rehearsals.
cccmommy
This got me looking at old address lists from when I marched. I'd be happy to give you zip codes from 85 & 86 BD, especially if you were able to do a comparison from then to now. I moved 2500 or so miles to march out there.
