Hey, also Star 88 - the soprano soloist in the ballad - I can't remember the name of the song, but I think his name is Barry Hudson.

Could you maybe not revive 8 year old threads?

Revive away! This is a great thread. Self appointed DCP police be dammed!

Madison Scouts Mello in 2010 (Ryan Bickett).

I was also a fan on BD's trumpet soloist in 2004 not named Scott Dean.

"Soloists With Tone":

David Lang (Baritone) and Greg "Harpo" Blum (Soprano) from the Colts. Incredible hornplayers and DEDICATED, as either one of them could have marched with ANYBODY, but chose to remain with and "Age Out" of their corps.

I believe both of them won their respective DCI "Indy" Championships back in the 1970s.

Thank you... Thought I was going to have to scold folks... No talk about soloists should ever take place without remembering Greg "Harpo" Blum. Got to see him live back in the day and he was just incredible. Kind of like Barry Sanders and the Detroit Lions. One of the best players ever playing for a lesser team. He was the first one of the DCI era to start drawing people into the stadiums early just to hear him play.
