Hrothgar15
What is the mark of a truly good show? In my mind, it's the ability to affect the audience emotionally. What shows over the years have personally caused you to shed a tear? The first time I watched Cadets 1995 on DVD, and realized just how utterly beautiful this show is, I pretty much wept at the end with the Iwo Jima pose with the American flag. Cadets 2002 affected me even more, with the 9/11 pose on the back sideline. God, what a great show. Seeing Phantom Regiment for the first time in 2006, when they hit the Resurrection chorale at the end, I definitely welled up a bit. Keep in mind this was in June. :P Finally, Carolina Crown's finals performance in 2006. They took me and the entire audience along for a ride, and I know had tears in my eyes when they were done. What about you?
liebot
Never cried while watching or listening to drum corps. Then again, I've probably cried about 4 times in the past 6 years. And I think the last time was at retreat in '05 after we won Div 2. So I guess that's my only drum corps-related crying story. nummy1
People were said to get very sentimental for the 2002 Boston Crusaders show...
dbg
Boston Crusaders 2002, when they opened the banners of the "american icons" When the last one was opened to show the picture of the Firefighter from 9/11. I looked around the stadium on finals night and saw several people tearing up.
CSGreen
I think it takes a lot to get that kind of emotional reaction out of a marching show... (although I think getting chills is much more likely) The only time I remember crying was watching Magic in 94 during their ballad. When the *clock* goes away and the song changes, that is still the biggest chillbump from Drum corps history for me. The song was dedicated to a (Bass Drummer if I remember correctly) who died that year in a car crash. The hornline was spot on, had incredible emotion, and the visual package was respectful of the show and the situation. I couldn't help but cry. ciabattadm
2005 cadets, the whole was amazing! The most emotional part for me would be the ballad
