cwillpayne
Forgive me for my ignorance......first time i heard PR 1990 is tonight while doing some homework..... about half way through the show....... I heard excerpts from Phantom of the Opera (scv 89), City of angels ?(Madison 89?), New World (PR 89) Am I losing my mind? Did they really take a bunch of excerts from different shows and put them into the 1990 show? Wow. If so, please tell me what other ones I am missing. If I am wrong, please correct me! Thanks

Thanks Nope...you're correct. They were playing "Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint-Seans. In the intro section, Saint-Seans put in quotes from his contemporaries....Regiment just did the same thing with it's corps contemporaries. supersop
There's a thread around here somewhere that named all the corps and songs that they played ... but for the life of me .... I can't find it.
84BDsop
that never occured to me.....extremely interesting. That was the back story from 90...they made a point of informing people WHY they would be hearing those quotes...I rather liked it.

troopers1
Cavies are quoted at the end of one of the sections, where you hear the car horn and four unison notes.
Phansouth
Isn't the Scouts lick from Slaughter? Also I think they quote the Cavies somewhere, but can't remember what tune. They mimmicked the last notes of Cavies' shows from '89 and '90.
