JayM
Cavaliers love their little spin cycle lydian scale, bd If the quote to which you are referring is in both Spin Cycle (the "Miles Davis" lick) and Machine, then it's in F octatonic, not F lydian. In fact, the entire 3rd movement of Spin Cycle was in F octatonic. Edited April 24, 2007 by Jayzer

MR2Fast2Catch
i think the correct term would be flat 5? but i do agree it is used a LOT Edited April 25, 2007 by MR2Fast2Catch
jmackay
Being a drummer............... I always thought the correct term for an extension on a major chord could be a sharp eleventh in that an extension doesn't exsist within the octave. And an extension doesn't always need a resolution when it is used on the last chord of a phrase......................... Just being a drummer of course. b**bs
mobrien
So any of you horn geeks wanna take a guess as to why the girls are always heading over to the drum bus after the show? You were standing there talking about flatted fifths while we were getting their phone numbers. Edited April 25, 2007 by mobrien

Jared_mello
Right...Have fun with the clap so youre trying to respond to a drummer's jab at excessive theory talk by making fun of girls in general? i personally like girls, and havent really found avoiding them to be that great or worthwhile of an idea. madscout96
So any of you horn geeks wanna take a guess as to why the girls are always heading over to the drum bus after the show? You were standing there talking about flatted fifths while we were getting their phone numbers. How can you possibly have time to hook up with girls or talk on the phone when you're constantly drumming on that pad, 24/7? Horn players rest their chops after the show, socializing. What are you doing? Practicing higga-digga-burr!!
