1971 program with descreen option, Mark Twain Cadets

Edit: program notes are horn line of 39, drum section of 18, color guard of 22...

organized since 1965, sponsored by American Legion Post 154 of Elmira Heights...

the 1971 program was "Swingin Seventies" and named 'The big Orange and Blue'

Yeah,, the I&E was a blast, especially the finals at the end of the day, when a Jr C Corps quartet could beat a Jr A Corps quartet LOL... I still have my medals around somewhere.

We had some good times at I&E in the early 70’s which were often held the same weekend as a winter guard competition. I miss I&E and winter guard ‘sigh’…

but…now i can peek at some sites…gotta like some aspects of technology…

I rarely post the same photo twice; decided to rescan 2 program photos yesterday (as follows). The programs are almost 40 years old and the original pictures are 2” x 4 ½”

Yes he does. Jay Grim was my best man when I got married. He still lives (and so do I) in Springfield IL. I aged out in the Guardsmen and Jay went on to march in the Knights. The best guy ever in drum corps that never got to march DCI finals.
