Chief Guns
I know it's gonna be another 8-9 months before our beloved BD announces their show, but other corps already have a 2017 thread lol. I am still hoping BD gives us a all Gordon Goodwin show. Below is what i posted in the 2017 prediction thread. If recent history repeats itself, BD will not only win in 2017, but they will do it in dominating fashion (see below). Following their Silver medal finishes in 2008, 2011, and 2013, BD came back the following seasons and went a combined 79-0 with a finals average score of 99.13!! Also recent history has shown us it's one thing to get to the top of mountain, but it's a different story to stay on top. Phantom/Cadets/Crown didn't even medal the year after beating the Devils. Lastly with 2017 being BD's 60th anniversary, the Devils have won gold on their 20th, 40th, and 50th anniversary seasons 1977, 1997, 2007. If you are a betting man, recent history says place your money on BD bringing home title number 18 in 2017. DO IT UP DEVILS 2017!!!!! BD 2008 Silver......2009 Gold undefeated 26-0, 99.05 2011 Silver......2012 Gold undefeated 24-0, 98.70 2013 Silver......2014 Gold undefeated 29-0, 99.65 2016 Silver......2017 ???????????????????????

We shall see. Bluecoats will be ready to defend their title. But so was Crown after they won. BD hasn't lost back to back years since 05-06. To put that in perspective, my daughter hadn't even started kindergarten yet in 05, she is now in high school lol.

I too hope that the Devils do a Goodwin show, but I don't think that will happen. I'm sure the concept is most important for any of their shows in recent memory, but I really want them to play more jazz - not (very) small snippets like 2016. That's probably why my favorite Devils shows over the last 10 years or so are 2010 and 2013, with a nod to 2012 for playing Bird and Bela in Bb and the Goodwin compositions in 2014 and 2015. I'm sure that whatever the staff comes up with will be entertaining, just like all of the other corps.
