Bold Predictions!

Due to lingering financial problems, compounded by extreme fuel prices, one or two of the WC corps will not make it to Championships in Indy this year. -
In their announcement, they stated that they are starting with the 2012 season.

From the clips and stuff that are around, plus some news from their camps, it sounds like Blue Stars has a very solid battery again this year, with a huge step up in their pit. Could be very interesting. -

It is possible that Blue Stars or SCV could be the strongest corps out of the gate. BUT, the placements will most likely be the same as they were on 8/14/2010. Early shows almost always follow the placements from the previous year, with few exceptions, no matter how good the corps from below may actually perform. -
If 2010 Finals was one week later....

I saw Blue Stars definitely going past SCV, and Madison going past Boston. Both of those corps were really flying that last week and the improvements from Allentown to Finals were impressive. -
Can they actually have a car chase on the field???

BD and Cavies. Not a word out of either of them. I think they might be pretty good this year. -
VERY nice! Looking forward to their show announcement. They usually put out a really great video, etc.

starting out

Raise $1,000,000, start several for-profit businesses that are immune to recessions, obtain a mid-sized school building as far from neighbors as possible, find hundreds of volunteers, and hire some excellent business managers, educators, etc. THEN, and only THEN, advertise for members. -
Actually, most of the upper DCI corps make a profit by turning over their equipment every year or two. Most of them get their brass at a REALLY nice discount from Yamaha, King, Jupiter, etc. in exchange for the advertising rights. They use them for a year or two and then sell them for more as used than they paid for them new. So, really, they are saving money by using this method.
