  1. Wow, I am really happy to hear that all of the holes have been filled!!! Great news.
  2. Yes, that and "ease of doing business".
  3. This is all pretty simple with respect to Paul Rennick and SCV's 2011 drum line. The talent will follow Paul Rennick, wherever he may go. The PR and UNT guys came to SCV's open auditions, just like a ton of other players. They were chosen because they were among the best of who showed up. The key will be SCV hanging onto Paul Rennick.
  4. I was so sad to hear this news this morning. May Nate rest in peace.
  5. Myron won't be writing the drill. That will continue to be done by Pete Weber. Myron's role will be Program Facilitator/Program Consultant, i.e. keeping those Vanguard traditions alive.
  6. I don't really know how common it was or if Gail was the last one to take on that dual role but when I marched in the early to mid-70s, Gail was the director, the brass arranger and the brass instructor
  7. No San Antonio webcast this year for some reason.
  8. Is it really that dirty? Seems pretty darn clean to me.
  9. Yes, just to reiterate, your "Brass Balls" award goes to female mello soloist, Erin Holtz.
  10. In answer to the thread's question, geez, I sure hope not.
  11. I did. Not in uniform for these run throughs but I think this show is going to surprise a lot of people. Not typical SCV, in my opinion. Definitely pushing the envelope for them. I think it will really grow on people and I am excited about it. I loved Ballet for Martha but this is NOT Ballet for Martha. Will see them tonight in unis, along with BD at BD's Family Day.
  12. SCV's company front, without a doubt. So many goosebump moments in that show. Loved it from start to finish.
  13. I'm not trying to hijack this thread but John, please know that some of these people almost destroyed this corps. Thank god, things are where they are now. And it's not just Jeff, it's a lot of different people that turned this around and made this happen. Sorry, Randy!!
  14. It was very much like a WGI retreat, unfortunately.
  15. Thank you Santa Clara Vanguard for bringing music, emotion, artistry, beauty, sophistication, and class back to drum corps. I will never forget SCV 2009.
  16. That certainly sounds like a reasonable prediction.
  17. You're welcome. As far as I know anyway, no V. But you never know what can happen between now and Finals.
  18. Martha is standing on the cymbals at the very end as the cymbal line lifts her. Where did you see the V?
  19. I love your SCV review. My thoughts and feelings exactly.
  20. This has obviously been a tough summer for corps members. Hopefully, nothing too serious and BD's performances won't be affected. It's awful it's got to happen at all but especially going into the final strech. Must really suck for the sick members.
  21. I agree with you, it has been an incredible season and I think more enjoyable than most. I will miss it as well.
