  1. I just sat there for 3 minutes and watched your spelling corrections signature.
  2. I think the funny thing is they got the "Best Drum Corps" award for the parade.
  3. So i went away for a few days for the 4th and am just getting back to my computer now so here is what I remember- Got out of work right at 7 and had my boyfriend Matt drive me to the show - he had absolutely no idea where we were going and has never seen a Drum Corps show before or heard me talk about it and didn't know what was going on until we drove past Regiment's horn arc and he goes "What's a marching band doing out here in the middle of summer?". Due to traffic on 93 and then an accident close to the stadium I didn't get there until INT so I will start with that... INT - 2 hot dogs in 1 bun for 3$? amazing Regiment - Loved the sound of them and the look of the uni's. Everything people have said about their drill being very tight is true, especially in comparison to the other corps there that night. Awesome hornline and awesome drumming. Colorguard was terrible - the work was simple and yet dirty. Compared to the top corps they look like high schoolers out there - this corps needs a new CG direction otherwise it'll drag the whole corps down. I expect their CG to finish below 8th at finals. They did use show flags but I don't think all of them. Big complaint I had was a lot of the body. I'm sorry Regiment, but having a 12 or 16 count hold so you can so #### with your arms that has nothing to do with or goes with the music is a waste to me. Ironic that Fluff is made in Lynn. Overall just a very pretty show. Matt's take on them: How do they keep their uniforms clean? Could you imagine if your son was wearing one of those? (in reference to the CG uni's) and Wow, they're loud! Crown - Pretty much the reason I went to this show - The sepia color scheme isn't as offensive as I thought. I love the music selections. CG was fantastic, head and shoulders over last year and even 08 - the choreography is very well written and executed. The hornline was awesome, such a great sound at such spread out distances - lusciousness is the word I use to describe their sound. The one thing this show lacks I feel is more wow moments. They have a lot of neat moments like the lay down/leg work in the start of Danzon - compared to Regiment's use of body this was so much better because it actually fit the music and made sense. The ending drags a bit, but we all know it is only temporary. Matt's take on them - I don't like their uniforms as much. Holy crap, they're even louder than the last ones. Woah that was neat (in response to a cool rifle catch) Bluecoats - Didn't really know what to expect with them. Was I going to get a championship caliber program or was it going to be like 07 where they were just wicked clean to start off and then fizzled. This is a big pill for me to swallow folks seeing as I'm not a big BC fan but it's the former and not the latter. It won't win the whole pie but it is def top 5 maybe 4 material. The corp's uni's looked good - couldn't really tell the difference between the two blues from a far.The guard uni's looked like throw up and their work was very much below Crown's but they were still pretty good. The hornline was awesome - Asphalt Cocktail was sooooo good. My one gripe with them was the same as with Regiment - stupid body. Completely unnecessary moments in the show that make DC seems dorkier than it needs to. Didn't mind some of the synth stuff but for the love of god STOP MIC'ING YOUR SOLOIST!!!! Oh and also, I think BC hired the people next door to the stadium to shoot off fireworks at every big hit... it was almost too coincidental Matt's take - Their hair looks like a 80s band (the guard). Loved the opening set with the guard leaning. Didn't think they were as loud as Regiment or Crown. BAC - I'm not a Mass native but this was their home show and the crowd showed their appreciation. I love this show - very accessible and very well thought out in terms of design. Loved the sashaying to the beats of Shost No. 10, was very impressed with how they differentiated Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini from Regiments 95 version. The corps seemed a bit tired, wasn't much oomph in their performance but I think that might just be them getting used to it. Given their previous tie with Regiment I expected them to be a lot closer than they were, however, I wasn't up too high in the stadium. Their show just seems like it lacks a finale in terms of the storyline, I'm sure this will change soon. Matt's take - he liked their uni's the best, loved the big chair, and thought they were just ok. Other details - this announcer was hilarious. Crowns generator wasn't working so two staff member ran over with a back up and one of them was riling up the crowd as he did so. I forget what the announcer said but he was just teasing him a bit. He then goes "I would have plugged it in myself but I didn't want to have to get mouth to mouth... unless it's from your girlfriend" The crowd erupted in laughter. Overall the stadium was ok - pretty short and I felt we paid way too much for the seats we got. Also they had a big problem of hearing other corps warming up as well as drumlines warming up while corps were on the field. Matt had a good time - I waiting in line with him for 10.5 hrs so he could get his stupid iPhone 4 (I didn't even get one) so this was payback. Went to Coldstone afterwards and then called it a night. Since I didn't see any other reviews from the Lynn show - If anyone has any Q's let me know - I know there's stuff I'm leaving out.
  4. I can't get there until 8 due to work - do you think they'll still have tix available then?
  5. to answer the title of the thread - it is just you.
  6. 6th and btw - arent you the one in you review who said you ::hoped:: they (BC) could get 3rd at best?
  7. every time i've spoken against BC it's been in favor of corps who have ended up placing higher than them.
  8. I'm not a huge fan of it either - I've only seen it on Youtube but I don't think it's champion quality. I can see this anywhere from 6-4th
  9. I like nipples. Crown 80.2 Cadets 79.1 Cavaliers 76.3 Blue Stars 73.7 Madison Scouts 72.0 Glassmen 71.6 Colts 69.7 Pioneer 53.8
  10. Other than Michael Klesh arranging the music, does anyone know who else was responsible for the hornline? Loved that sound and wish they return to it.
  11. It's a gross day up here in Boston, 85-90 and sunny/humid.
