Glad you speak for every kid in the corps. I imagine the kids at Crown have a different take on your view. In fact, I know they do. -

BD didn't exactly set a blazing path to victory tonight. .5 tenths is a insignificant margin at the first regional of the season. The other poster was accurate in saying that percussion was the difference tonight. -

You must have watched a completely different show tonight. Crown may very well move ahead of BD in Rockford tonight -

This show is middle of the top 12 caliber with the right changes and cleaning. Out of top 12? Not even close. -
East Coast Scores Too High?

Not sure I understand the panic about Crown's percussion. Their scores are just fine. They jumped .6 tenths just from Chambersburg tonight alone. Take a deep breath. -
Demand means no watered down product that actually has the ability to morph throughout the season. I will take a somewhat dirty show mid season than a clean one that hits a wall two weeks before finals. It isn't the start, it is the finish line we must shoot for. That is one reason I get so aggravated with those who write a high demand show off 2 weeks into the season. Stuff like "Oh, their show is way above their heads" or "They will never get that clean", drives me insane. I agree wth one of the earlier posters. Some corps staffs have just missed the design element for their respective corps this summer. This is not out of the ordinary, as it seems to happen to a handful of corps each summer. The kids can poor their heart and soul into the show, (any kid that marches in this activity is giving their all) but the design has to be there too. Demand will always equal effect when it is clean and at a high performance level.

Can you lose your World Class Status?
Tone Quality Matters replied to argonaut's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
If this is the standard that DCI set, then it seems clear to me that if the Cascades are at the level that the OP said they are at competitively, then why hasn't DCI stepped in by now? -
It is June. How does one come to these conclusions in June? How many re-writes, tweeks, adjustments and changes will take place with all of these shows before August? Many, many!! I get that you may not like concepts, but to just be such a downer this early is silly. I equate your misery to someone drinking a fine wine having been just bottled and not aged. Let's give it some time man.

Mixing it up this year
Tone Quality Matters replied to drumcorpfanct's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Though I appreciate the OP's thoughts on Crown's show, it is unrealistic just using the simple law of averages that BD will have anything less than a top four season and Cadets show is very strong as well. I do think the potential is there for Phantom to peak. We have no real conisistent head to head match ups to compare so to say it is all over is silly. Mr. OP. I am gonna try to give you the benefit of the doubt and just say you are a youngblood who is still learning the ropes. (Very little Benefit of the doubt) -

I am really looking forward to seeing Crossmen this summer. From all accounts, it sounds like a neat show. It seems like yesterday that I watched that corps flat tear up Pat Metheny Suite in 1991 -
