2016 DCI World Championship Finals - 8/13/2016
amusicman replied to Newseditor44's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
That number for crown is not correct. If you add total visual to total music you get - 1. Blue Devils 58.375 2. Crown 58.238 3. Bluecoats 58.225 Crazy close between the top three in performance. -
This show is so full of potential. I mean if that's the bare bones I can't wait to see what it becomes. I am getting that this could become something truly special. That brass line is killer. It's only June 18th and they sound like that!

Like what Centerville High School did this past season with their show "A View Askew"
-
Coppell High School from Texas in 2005. The whole show is the Organ Symphony using Music from all movements.

Fan network: 2014 semis and finals APDs?
amusicman replied to packetslave's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
DCI posted that they were. When I contacted them a little over a week after finals this year to find out when they would be releasing them they said they never intended on releasing semis APDs, just prelims, even though they admit they advertised all season they were going to. -
What's the reason?

Spot on. All you hear every year is wow Downey wrote another great book but since 2006 at least I would say it's more 75%-25% David Glyde. They make a killer pair though.

Dave Glyde has written the brass book since 2004. Downey then arranges it for brass and adds his flair, and the Blue Devils sound to it. This combo has, in my opinion, been pure magic year in and out.

To those who REALLY dislike Cadets show:
amusicman replied to seen-it-all's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
in my opinion, I dont care if you love or hate a show, love or hate the staff, EVERY CORPS get a standing opinion. You are not aplauding the show or the staff you are clapping for the KIDS who have worked non-stop for the last 2+ months to acheive a goal of being the best they can be. Anything thing less is insane to me. -
Allentown. . . DAY TWO !

Allentown . . . DAY ONE!

I think thats what it must be. I mean their drill and visual in so crazy difficult yet everyone thinks its the easiest on the field. -

I have thought about it alot and I truly think they have the most difficult visual program on the field this year. Crazy fast and hard drill, and forms that stay perfect while the corps are in poses, bouncing, dancing, shuffling, and all multiple times throughout the show! -

I think we can go ahead and change that to 16 -

Blue Devils are truly in a league of their own this year. Design wise and performance wise. -

I think this is the best visual design from them in a long while, just insanely dirty. Their new drill designer is a genius and is a great fit with them. Now the rest of the visual staff.....? -

Boston has got to get a new visual head and visual staff. They have watered this drill down more than any corps i have ever seen, and it still is really bad from an ensemble perspective. Such a great show design and brass performance but that visual performance is just..... -
All of Blue Devils, Cadets, and Crown. Crown show this year is the only one where I yell out while hearing it. What Matt Harlof does to their brass is amazing!!!!
