  1. The bunny was a male, and therefore was not Hopkins' daughter. The girl in yellow, "Alice", was his daughter. And I agree -- the bunny outfit was goofy even after they added the ears (before that, it looked like an emaciated abominable snowman...).
  2. Maybe already an alumni of Wooton's Summer Drummin' camp? A 10-year-old alumni, unbelievable... I saw this on another website, and the kid's dad posted on there that he wants to play flute in his elementary school band! What a waste of hands if he does.
  3. I nominate this for the unofficial best-post-in-thread award. Send this to DCI in its entirety, stxmoose32! Great suggestions top to bottom.
  4. lol!!! funny story: my father-in-law, who knows absolutely nothing about drum corps and had not been filled in beforehand about who we liked/didn't like, turned to me during the Cadets show and said "Are we still watching drum corps? Because this doesn't look anything like the ones that came on before them." And then he went to the bathroom, came back after the Cadets clip was finished and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the corps.
  5. Murfreesboro was announced the night of the rain disaster at Tennessee Tech. It's the 13th, Atlanta is the 14th. I heard Indy will be the 21st, then the corps head west, possibly to Phoenix/Tempe, then the Pacific Northwest.
  6. lol!!!!! I'm tired and seriously lacking in creativity tonight so I'm not even going to give this a try -- besides, I don't think I could top any of these. Madison's is my personal favorite.
  7. It was announced at Tennessee Tech that next year's Masters would be Friday, July 13th. I haven't heard anything official from DCI, but it's expected to be back at MTSU.
  8. Touchy touchy! I wasn't "crapping on" you personally -- just pointing out that Phantom fans who can't watch them will likely go and watch somebody else. And I didn't mean that you were disrespectful or would disturb a practice. Most people I've seen at any practice have been quiet, kept their distance and generally took pains to be good spectators. Still, the impression Phantom's original rehearsal schedule gave (see post above) was that they didn't want anyone at their rehearsals; and that led me to believe they were afraid of the members being distracted by fans. Like I said, the Phan night is a nice step toward dispelling that notion.
  9. This is what I read a couple of weeks ago, from Phantom's tour itinerary -- no mention of a Phan night at that time. The impression I got was that they didn't want anyone around any part of the week. The Phan night is a nice addition...and may make some fans (or Phans!) who were turned off by this schedule feel a little better about things. DCI CHAMPIONSHIPS WEEK We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we have closed rehearsals during finals week. We encourage you to visit the beautiful city of Madison and other cities in the region while attending the DCI championships! Monday, August 7: Closed rehearsal Tuesday, August 8: Closed rehearsal Wednesday, August 9: Closed rehearsal Thursday, August 10: Closed rehearsal and quarter-finals contest at Camp Randall Friday, August 11: Closed rehearsal and semi-finals contest at Camp Randall Saturday, August 12: Closed rehearsal and World Finals performance at Camp Randall Members are free to depart the corps at 1 am after Finals performance has concluded. 10. Maybe I wasn't clear. What I was getting at was that since Phantom doesn't want anybody at their rehearsals, and I'm assuming it's so they can focus, it appears that their fans (like acn) will just go and watch somebody else's rehearsal that is open. So if open rehearsals means (to Phantom, at least) lack of focus/bad rehearsal/whatever, is it fair to shift that off to other corps who do have open rehearsals? Not that every Phantom fan will want to watch someone else, but I'd say a fair amount of them will be in Madison all week with time on their hands and will want to watch somebody, heck anybody, rehearse (like acn, who has Phantom as his avatar and his signature, but is wanting to know about BD's and Madison's rehearsals, presumably since he's not welcome at Phantom's). Personally, I think an excited, but respectful (ie, not bugging the members, staying out of the way of the rehearsal), fan base at a rehearsal can energize a corps. What Phantom is doing seems a little mean-spirited to their dedicated fans, member's families, etc.
  11. So you're obviously a PR fan, and they don't want fans "disturbing" their rehearsals, so their fans are going to go and "disturb" other corps' rehearsals. Wow, not really fair on their part, is it? They get rid of unwanted distractions and, at the same time, shift those distractions off to everybody else! Gotta say I wouldn't mind if their closed rehearsal backfired on them...
  12. I agree, Curtis Costanza seems to hate Bluecoats guard! I can only find one other time he judged them, in San Antonio, and both times he's had them way behind the pack. His scores for 'Coats are aberrant...hope he's not a finals judge!!!
  13. Roll your mouse over "Summer Coverage", then CLICK on "'06 Event Coverage" -- don't mouse over to the menu with the other shows! The player will come up and list the Allentown shows that are available, and you'll see the Eastern Classic banner at the top of the player page. They must take the link down while they're loading new shows because you couldn't load the page for several minutes, then when it came back up Esperanza and Mandarins had been added. It's an easter egg, very hidden -- even more than back when they had the "Beta test stream" link for the early shows. Kudos to whoever figured out this was happening tonight!!!
  14. Waaahhhh -- mine doesn't have anything from Allentown, the newest thing on it is Atlanta evening! I'm confused.... nvm -- I didn't click on it the first time, I scrolled over to the menu instead. Guess I should jsut read the instructions next time, huh?
  15. Cavies? Hmmm, I really like their show but I can't sing anything from memory... Cadets? Okay, here goes: Ooooooooooh aaaaaaaaahhhhh mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ahhhhhhhhhhhh oooh eee oohh aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa uuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...etc., etc., etc. (Hint: that's the vocals over the ballad!)
  16. Agreed, Cavaliers pit was incredible while he worked with them. He's working with Bluecoats this year; their pit has some great stuff. Very nice review!
  17. Okay, I want the story behind the santa hat, second seat on the right. On second thought, maybe I don't....
  18. Guys, and girls! Bluecoats have one girl on snare, one on marimba, two on vibes. And yes, battery and front ensemble are both awesome!!! Go Bloooooooooo...
  19. And this effect only works on the Cadets? Hmmm, I always thought all the corps benefitted from a great crowd response, silly me!!
  20. Hey thanks! Here's mine that "disappeared" since I linked it straight from the motivator...
  21. I'd be interested in your impressions of the degree of change/potential for finals week in the corps since you haven't seen anybody live in over a month. Please post an Allentown review!
  22. And you are able to categorically state that there are shows that are right behind/more difficult/more dirty than Bluecoats, yet you haven't seen Blue live this season? Your Cadets blinders are showing, but that's nothing new...
