  1. Bluecoats It’s time Carolina Crown Great staff, always intriguing Blue Devils Still a medalist, always the bar to rise above Blue Knights Clearly, more blue is needed at the top Cadets Show design continues to age and/ or have been seen at BOA before Cavaliers Incredible visual staff upgrade, can the corps keep up? Vanguard Will be better than those below them Boston Crusaders Improving talent will be the key Blue Stars “from the land of sky blue waters…..” Crossmen original music won’t really matter either way Phantom Regiment fading….fading…..new staff won’t get a break Troopers Controversial new look actually improves visual scores Madison Scouts slipping out again Oregon Crusaders So tough to crack the top 12 Academy see above Spirit of Atlanta this makes me a bit sad Colt 45’s because I am old school
  2. I am 48. Didn't miss a DCI from 72-92 ( performed in 82,83). I went for the first time in 21 years this past weekend down in Indy and was "born again". The magic of a finals performance never gets old. Those kids give it everything they have and it is truly incredible. We can be critical of shows on the DCP but one thing we should never be critical of is the massive effort that each one of these corps members gives throughout the summer. I am truly inspired by what I saw and will go back again.
  3. They came out of nowhere in 79. A completely amazing morning prelim performance if I remember it right. One of my favorite Trooper memories. On the other side if that. I remember being crushed when the Guardsmen knocked Casper out in 76 with another amazing, out of nowhere, walk on water performance in prelims. Guardsmen 1975-31st 1976-12th

  5. The 83 Knights came out of the box pretty hot. Something happened between DCM and Whitewater that year. I don't know if everyone else made better changes, or if Geneseo peaked too early, but I know they started getting passed up by so many corps leading up to an underwhelming prelims performance at DCI. It want even close then.
  6. Rounding out the top 25: 17) Purple Lancers 18) DeLasalle 19) Royal Crusaders 20) Seneca Optimists 21) Alliance 22) St. Ignatius Girls 23) Offensive Lions 24) Geneseo Knights 25) The Thing Thanks for playing!
  7. It's mid season, and I'm not sure the talent is there to pull of that Sandra Opie arrangement.....yet.
  8. Although I may be a tad out of touch, here's my predictions: 1) Star of Indiana 2) Anaheim Kingsmen 3) 27th Lancers 4) Bayonne Bridgemen 5) Des Plaines Vanguard 6) Belleville Black Knights 7) Suncoast Sound 8) Sky Ryder's 9) North Star 10) Guardsmen 11) Capital Freelancers 12) Velvet Knights 13) Polish Falcon Cadets 14) Dutch Boy 15) Bleu Raeders 16) Commodores
  9. I appreciate you putting this together. I'll enjoy watching this as the season progresses.
  10. My Dad dragged me to this event. If I am not mistaken in addition to the Cavaliers and Scouts, The 27th Lancers and Royal Crusaders had teams too. Two Seven had the most rag tag uni's but played so #### tough that it made it really fun to watch.

  14. They put on a nice show today. I love how they always gut it out. How can you not root for them. Go Cedarburg!! (I'm dating myself)
  15. I marched that year with the Cavaliers. The Knights came out of the block very clean and polished. We were a mess until the final third of the season. It was a classic case of peaking too early and not making the changes needed to their show to keep their score growing. They were kind of cocky all year towards us as well. They would often taunt us with "What time is it? It's Knight time in Miami!" as we were passing. We felt relief when we passed them in scoring and left them behind for good.
  16. Accents Golden Knights of Chicago Bradley Boilermakers??? Buccaneers
  17. My Dad marched in the Skokie Vanguard My older sister marched in Guardsmen My younger sister marched in the Troopers I marched in the Cavaliers Sadly none of our kids have shown any interest. As a matter of fact I am the only family member that stills pays any attention to the activity.
  18. http://www.wclynx.com/burntofferings/packscavalier.html The Cavies logo is similar but still different. I have always heard the story about the logo being swiped from the cigarette pack. Check out the link to see the similarities as well as the quote within the text about the corps.
  19. As long as it isn't as low quality as last nights webcast. I am exceedingly frustrated with the lack of improvement in this service. I am unsure if I would even take a discount for next year. DCI should proactively do something for those who experienced last nights debacle. A refund for last night is a start.
  20. I wore my Dad's old Skokie Vanguard jacket to Cavalier winter guard rehearsals. It was thick wool, warm and cool looking. Some of the other corps members gave me a hard time about it because there was some sort of unwritten rule about wearing other corps stuff. Since the corps was long folded, and it was my old mans, they allowed me to wear it. One rookie, Dave Wiles, had his SCV shirt ripped off his back during warmups one night. This was the last time I saw anyone wearing another corps colors.
