  1. So... you know what happened or are you just speculating? Was it just a few members, a majority of the corps, visitors that were there, etc? I don't know. That's why I'm asking.
  2. In the gym, sleeping back with a thick egg crate foam bad. On the bus with VF, shared the seat with my girlfriend at the time. In the Dons, I was an age-out and was given a seat all to myself so was able to stretch out. Thanks to drum corps, I can sleep in any condition now. Good times!
  3. I was just going to post that clip. Since you beat me to it, I'll add this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4UoN-4Ou80
  4. Hope this guy doesn't get wind of our show since it contains songs that deal with kids on drugs, acid trips, death, grief, and depression: The Who - "Baba O'Riley" The Rolling Stones - "She's A Rainbow", "Paint It Black"
  5. The California Dons: I'll now wait for the pics of the corps that went the way of the Hostess cupcake for one year.
  6. Just to start with: Garfield- 1982-85, 1987 SCV- 1981-89 BD- 1980-84, 1986 Suncoast Sound- 1983-86, 1988 Spirit of Atlanta 1980, 1983-86 More than a top 10 list? Yep. Couldn't help myself. I'll add more in a bit.
  7. DCP 9/11 Tribute Thanks again to DCP, Quest Graphics (Cascade Mama), and the Madison Scouts for this stirring tribute.
  8. Speaking of Miami (shudder), we found the huge-*** scorpions, banana spiders, and gators around our school quite exciting. However, I have discovered that we have all three of those in my neck of the woods!
  9. Yep. That and working him into the show (or outer area, that is ) as well.
  10. Not quite "unnoticed" but I loved the "Mr. Moto" idea in SCV's '06 Moto Perpetuo show.
  11. For me, I'd like to see them stay in OC for at least 1 more year and then follow the Academy/PC/Mandarin tour model for a few years before they start out on a full tour. Whichever direction they choose, I wish them nothing but luck.
  12. Kind of funny how your anger and attitude is making the rest of us alumni look like a bunch of #####. Thanks. Much appreciated.
  13. And both (as well as Freelancers) took a hit from Indian gaming, correct?
  14. Also known for one of his comments during the broadcast... "That was cool".
  15. The Cadets have made me fall in love with them all over again the past couple of years and I've been a HUGE Crown supporter since seeing them in Pasadena. For me, those are 3 shows I will never listen to again. You say it was "great use of electronics" and I think just the opposite. And pretty much everyone knows how I felt about BK's over-use (my opinion) of a&e this past season. Different strokes, as they say.
  16. Hey! They weren't blow up dolls! That would have been an improvement!
  17. I may be losing my memory, didn't Phantom use an actual cannon (a small one) during 1812 for a few early shows? That was also the year they popped out 18 snares for the finale. Didn't they also march some larger drums, (not timps, but pretty close) for the finale of Symphonie Fantastique in '85?
  18. Speaking of dots, here is our practice field courtesy of Field Dots ...
  19. Actually, that was in '03. The penalty knocked us down 2 spots, going from 4th to 6th, which put us behind MBI and the Bucs. Still had a fantastic time, though! And it was me in '03!
  20. Sorry (actually, I'm not ), but I couldn't find any clips so I had to post the following shows in their entirety: 1985 Suncoast Sound (The "Lick" can be heard at the 11:50 mark) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=279397832594481442 1984 Suncoast Sound (especially from the (8:15 mark to the end of the show) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWIPdnwWboQ
