  1. Thanks. I was trying to hold out for that, but I did not see anyone offering them, so I had to start getting something! Looks like I might have to deal at the stadium!
  2. Bump. Only need 2 tickets for Saturday now. Thanks!
  3. I honestly think they should make their iconic uniform a focal point of the show. Start out in the uniform, have members discard the uniforms (well jackets at least), and then make putting the jacket back on a real "moment" in the show. It is such an icon that I think it could be cool, especially if they coupled it with an interesting treatment of Bernstein's Mass.
  4. Very late random thoughts on the show last night. Bluecoats were like a breath of fresh air, so different in the approach and yet familiar at the same time -- especially loved the Heat of the Day. But, am I the only one who immediately thought of the Brady Bunch "Keep on Dancing" outfit with the corps proper? Seriously, I think it is the white belts, but now I can't get that out of my head! Crown probably performed the most proficiently, but I just think that show is a not up to their standards. Really seems like they were desperate to play Medea's Dance of Vengeance and concocted a pretty convoluted story to do so. The tango in the middle also does not carry the "relentless" theme right now. But, perhaps my biggest issue is with the shooting at the end. Maybe just a little sensitive to the depiction of shooting now, but really did leave me a little uneasy. But, that's just me. Cadets left me flat. I love the Cadets, but this show just does nothing for me right now. But, I have had that impression in June many times only to love the show by August, so I know better than to pass judgment now (but that also applies to all of the others as well). Cavies were pretty strong, but really had a hard time getting the theme. I think it will require in person viewings and multiple viewings to get it. Phantom made me happy because they ran as far away from 2015 as possible and I am so glad they did. The guard looked really strong for June and I think the visual impacts will evolve and grow during the year. A lot to be done, but at least they are not saddled with a poorly conceived story to try to sell. Boston impressed me, but I just wish I could have heard the brass. The windmills were cool and after they figure out the best way to stage them and integrate them into the show, they will be a nice effect. Should be a pretty good year for them, but not really the show that will catapult them into the top 8, but solid nonetheless. Looking forward to seeing how the shows evolve! They always do.
  5. In the past, I have had no problem securing Finals Week tickets through the Marketplace on DCP, but it seems to not get the traffic it once did. While I have seen tickets posted on Stub Hub, they seem woefully overpriced. So, my question is where are others on here finding available tickets for good seats for Finals Week (if they in fact are)? Or is it just now a matter of working through Stub Hub? Any advice would be appreciated!
  6. Looking for two tickets for all Finals Week. Please contact me if you have anything available. Thanks!
  7. Congrats and thanks to the Cadets for bringing to the field a show that reminded me of why I fell in love with them in 1987 and beyond. Music in constant motion all at unreal performance levels. It was a joy to watch all season and I am very happy that they ended the season with a great run. I couldn't care less about placements. I just want to enjoy all that they brought us this season. This is one that will be listened to and watched in the future for sure. Thank you Cadets!
  8. Good for DCI. Bad for those fans who actually enjoy going to new cities for Finals. I am very displeased by this announcement. Looks like the primary DCI schedule is on lockdown for another 10 years. Regions, major shows and Finals all set. One would think taking your product to new markets would help expand the market. I guess not. Oh well, at least in Indy there are not too many things to distract me from drhm corps.
  9. Finals prediction: 1. Cadets 2. Crown 3. BD 4. Bluecoats (mostly due to individual marching technique) 5. SCV 6. Cavaliers 7. Blue Knights 8. Phantom 9. Madison 10. Blue Stars 11. BAC 12. Crossmen
  10. Makes me very happy that I got the Legacy Collection and each of the last three special Blu Ray compilations when I did! I stopped buying DVDs at about the same time that the VOD system through DCI.org became workable. Should have never stopped.
  11. So, if the Cadets change their entire look, does that possibly mean neon drum sticks? Might be interesting against a black top.
  12. Maybe the Cadets new unirforms should simply be a grey scale version of the actual uniform. So, black jacket and grey pants (with stripe) with all of the neon accents. So, we still get a similar effect from the marching and drill, but with the neon pop. I think that would work better than the all black.
  13. So, interestingly enough I have no problem with body movement by the corps proper if it is done in a way where it makes sense within the context of the show (like BK and BD (generally speaking)). But, my least favorite variation of corps body movement is when some random horn player (s) put down their horns and do a (typically) romantic pas de deux. And in this year's Cadets show, the one horn player that steps out to dance the waltz with one guard just makes zero sense. Especially when all of the other corps members and guard are doing things on their own. I think this year's Cadets show should skip the cheese and just focus on doing the basics perfectly. Simplicity can sometimes be most effective. Oh, and as for this years K-pop section from BD, I don't love it, but I like it much more now that the whole corps doesn't stop and break it down. Leave that to the guard and their wolf tails!
  14. So am I the only one who hates it when horn players dance with guard? I just noticed this going on in the Cadets show. I think that is cheese that should be cut immediately. Otherwise, I think their recent additions have worked well.
  15. Yeah, Crown was definitely on fire last night. Almost a perfect storm to land where they did. On to the next show. I am sure the kids are stoked though.
  16. Have to say, not surprised that Crown got second. It is who they passed in order to get there that I was surprised by. I thought BD had a pretty rough run visually (at least on the high cam) and I actually thought the Cadets had a pretty strong performance. Oh well, I will just chalk this up to DCI creating pre regional hype and also letting the Cadets know that they better do some significant visual changes in order to keep up. Maybe even change the uniform!
  17. Not sure if this is anything, or perhaps just GH pushing the rumors, but I did just get an email from the Cadets advertising their "Black Friday" sale. And the interesting part was all the pictures were gray scale with the text all in the neon color scheme. Not saying it means anything, but just reporting. Oh, and to actually address the hypothetical question, I would be totally OK if they changed the uniform up in this way. At the end of the day, as long as they are still a Cadet style uniform, I don't think there is much to get upset about.
  18. So glad to see this offering from Pioneer tonight! Very solid and entertaining. WHo knows, maybe after the exposure tonight, people will actually get to their seats on time for the other regionals and Allentown. Also, hats off on playing it so they got to go on last. Now let's see if the bus problem becomes an epidemic for those unhappy with their performance slot! Could you imagine if the Scouts had had similar bus issues? DCP may have exploded!
  19. Interesting. For some reason I thought it was Snow White with a baby -- I believe it was the same guard who played Snow White earlier and they are playing Children Will Listen. But the Golden Egg makes more sense. Otherwise it would be the golden child, and that is something entirely different!
  20. So, I am just finishing the performances now. Does anyone know when BD added the big Hershey's Kiss in Children Will Listen?
  21. I am thinking that the key to Cadets winning it all in Indy could very well come down to Crown's guard and SCV's percussion. If both of those captions beat BD, then that will either push BD closer to Cadets (guard and possibly percussion) or create more space between then (percussion). The rest I just see Cadets either having an advantage or being basically equal. Now, I am not suggesting that there isn't a possibility of Bloo or Crown or SCV or BK or anyone else surprising. Just working with the most likely final battle for the title. All we can do is wait and watch!
  22. I keep expecting a sudden change in uniform to white to help give the finale some added drama. But, not sure if anything that big is in the works. Perhaps they should steal the motif that I saw a HS band from Tennessee use when they did an inferno show and use trampolines to show the attempt to escape the inferno. I understand they might be in possession of some trampolines as well.
  23. Need two tickets for Friday and Saturday. Best seats available. Please contact me if you have any extras. Thanks.
