I think the reason Madison's trombones sounds so weak is because they are relying on, and compensating for the microphones instead of putting out a nice full sound.

Very pleased so far with The Avengers in their first season of competition since Season 18, especially after yesterday's win in Carrollton!

I just feel like SCV is performing at a higher level than the Cavaliers and have a better vehicle to succeed especially once they clean and refine their program. The strength of the brass and especially the percussion will aid that. Just my $0.02

I feel like I should let you know that valve trombones typically don't have the traditional handslides, so your wax seal idea is moot.

Hopefully that will change once renovations are complete on the Citrus Bowl.

Then clearly you don't care about drum corps. Just your version of drum corps and what you think it should be. That mindset is prevalent on these forums and quite selfish if you ask me. As someone who saw both of the drum corps I marched with fold over the past two years, I am appalled that an alum could even think this about their corps. So take your ball and go home. The Scouts will be just fine.

I doubt we'll ever see woodwinds. They are too cost-prohibitive and high-maintenance to make it through a full summer of extensive touring and the rigors of rehearsal.
