So how'd your parents treat you while on tour?
madd227 replied to NeutralNovice's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
They called me a lot(pointless cause I all charged my phone for a freeday) and sent me a lot of packages, most notably The new Harry Potter Book last year. When I was with my old corps I told my parents I was gonna go walk to the Kohls about a mile away from the housing site and buy some jeans for finals because everything I had stunk. They wouldn't let me do a single thing and just yelled and complained at how I am not thinking things through and blah blah blah. Yeah I was young, but in my head all I can think is, "I want to just go buy a ******* pair of jeans, leave me alone," I eventually did run off and buy my jeans. I wearing them right now actually, ended up being my favorite pair. Seriously though, I spent 2 and a half months taking care of myself, and suddenly buying clothes is now rocket surgery. a feat incapable of being accomplished until over half your life has been wasted. That really ###### me off. -
My director is glad I'm marching when I'm not around.

Crown had -4 Tour Buses -2 Semis -1 RV -1 Shuttle Bus -1 Souvie wagon, it was hauled by the shuttle bus -1 Van -1 Trailer for the gator that doubled for pit equipment, it was hauled by the Van. Back when Magic was around they had -4 tour buses(when one or two of them weren't in the shop for weeks at a time) -2 Semis(however when the EQ truck driver was drunk we lost access to it for a day because the main door was taken off and needed to be replaced. The EQ truck also doubled for extra bags when one or two of the buses had broken down) -1 Box Truck(However by finals the box truck had been totaled. The Box Truck hauled the souvie wagon, which means that we didn't have souvies for a while on tour) -1 Souvie wagon(see above) -1 Van(Nothing bad happened to the van) there is a reason our nickname was Tragic -

Did you have anything stolen on tour?
madd227 replied to Elmo Blatch's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
My wallet was stolen at a tragic camp in 06 this past summer on a free day I was browsing in a borders after doing laundry. I picked up an interesting book and put down my cell phone on the shelf because my last clean pair of clothes didn't have any pockets. after that I put the book back in front of the cell phone. I tried to call my phone but it was on vibrate, as far as I know it is still behind an unspecified sci fi book, in a borders, in Lawrence Massachusetts -

Every corps I have marched in doesn't allow members to do I & E -
This is always an area where KISS applies In order of importance -Gold Bond(Green Bottle) -Chopsaver -Water Jug -Suncreen -Dot book -Music Binder -Drill Binder -Valve Oil -Pencils -2 in 1 Tuner/Met -Wallet -iPod -Cellphone The only reason I had my cellphone and ipod with me was because of my corps policy on electronic devices. We are only allowed to charge them during floor time so that we don't have people stealing our stuff. My bag was really nice, and it had little clips for expansion that I used to carry my water jug, and black towel. So far it has made it through two tours and two school years, and it doesn't look ready to give up yet!
