  1. Though I noticed the holes, the show looks pretty close to done, minus a handful of sets. One would expect them to be done with at least 6 sets or something.
  2. If they offered an at-home viewing of Finals, people wouldn't shell out hundreds of dollars to not only see DCI Finals week, but to get a hotel room, plan flights, etc. It'd be a lot cheaper, but a lot less money to DCI. That is, unless they charge an enormous amount for the online cast.
  3. They aren't going because of the logistics of going all the way down the penninsula just for one show. This I believe.
  4. As everyone before me has said, corps choose their schedules. There is a general route of shows that progress to each major regional and the corps can choose which route they want. There's leeway here and there, but corps generally meet up occasionally. The Cadets and Crown have toured together for the past few years. Only now has it gotten juicy.
  5. My guess is you haven't seen the show yet. Let's just say that if you wish to walk onto that field, wear a hardhat.
  6. True that I'm looking at tour fees. However, it seems appropriate seeing as how the thread is about filling holes, which is something after camp fees.
  7. It's a popular misconception that the top corps are more expensive than all other corps. I would have to say that Cavaliers and Bluecoats are some of the cheapest around. For Cavaliers, it's about 1,700 for a rookie. For Bluecoats, it's about 1,500 and man do they eat well. Vice versa, Crossmen is quite expensive, reaching that 2,000-2,500 price range that you gave.
  8. Generally, people are given discounts only because they don't have to pay for camp fees and only part of spring training. If you don't have the show complete, you're not an alternate. With most corps I know, you stand on the sideline representing the hole in the drill. I haven't seen or experienced the uniform dilemma. My bet is they might wait a day or two to see if you're sticking around, then fit you. I doubt the corps is losing money. The reduced price covers the rest of the year's cost. And yes, corps are devoted to filling that hole. They don't want to rewrite drill because that's a long arduous process that could solved simply by plugging someone in.
  9. An instructor I know once said "Snares, who put those BB gun pellets on your drums?"
  10. Considering how the Cadets have been doing, it would suprise me if Crown took home the title. However, I could see them getting third, even if by a slim margin.
  11. You live up to your name, now don't you?
  12. Cavaliers and Spirit use "dot" marching. Everyone else uses some variation on dressing the form while going for your dot.
  13. It takes just one idea to put something into fruition. If you think about it, every successful (and unsuccessful) idea had to have originated from person, even if others follow and claim ownership. By the way, I am simply elaborating here.
  14. To my recollection, she has 4 more years after this season.
  15. This poll missed all the people that went to spring training already. Most of the votes will be region simply because of the older veterans voting and giving their piece. I bet the "dream corps" option would have a lot more votes.
  16. I believe the captions are averaged top award the most "consistent" dominating group in a certain caption. On the stage of the Finals night performance, the judges are looking to award the group achieving the highest level of expression and technicality "consistently" throughout the one show.
  17. Actually, Times Square would be the closest location to me. I'm just going to New Brunswick due to familiarity.
  18. Yes, he posted earlier in this thread. 8 seasons, 2000-2007.
  19. I am. I can't even get a video to come up. All I get is the "Fan Network Version 2.0" video.
