  1. A $700 Billion dollar bail out to start up all the corps that ever folded.
  2. I agree with everything said here, think of this awkward convo out of the limitless possibilities: "Hey, nice ring, where'd you march" "Ummm, I really liked Phantom's 08 show, but I never marched before" "Oh.." I would hope anyone that buys one doesn't EVER wear it.
  3. check www.regiment.org they are different from the member rings, but still very cool.
  4. usually once a day, probably more once audition season comes around and corps start releasing more information.
  5. I was just watching 1994 Regiment, and noticed that at :55 seconds, a soprano player in the back had a slide fall out earlier and picked it up rather quickly on the step off. Which triggered me to think there must be some funny stories out there about these kind of things. Tell us your stories!
  6. My finals week last year was June 16-25...it sucks I went to high school around the Binghamton area like 15 mins north of the PA border. Pretty much all HS in upstate and/or central new york get out really late. Sucks for people like me who wanted to march a D1 junior corps in High School. I still got 3 years..so it's not too bad
  7. I listen to music when I do my homework, it's not always drum corps, but a good chunk of it is. Also when I run I listen to either drum corps or some intense classical stuff or some big band stuff (like Gordon Goodwin big band). And when I'm not too busy sitting in my dorm I break out the fan network. When my roommate's not in the room for a while sometimes I'll conduct in the mirror or hold up some weights to replicate holding a euph/bari while listening to a show. Always a fun time.
  8. http://www.dci.org/news/view.cfm?news_id=e...66-ea6eed397a97 there's the DCI.org story about it
  9. When I saw that it reminded me of the 1983 DVD of Garfield and at the end when the camera is on him conducting (when it should be on the z-pull), but his face is so intense.
  10. I definitely think Buccs would hold their own in DCI, given they could go on a mini-tour like some open class corps do, I could see them making semi-finals, finals maybe a strech, but not out of the question. I remember during finals rehearsal last year some staff said during prelims they heard someone in the stands say something along the lines of "boy they must work those kids really hard!" inferring that we WERE a junior corps. Would be interesting to have Buccs judged by DCI judges and DCI sheets and see the results if they do another DCI East exhibition like we did in 07.
  11. Arban's book is the s***! characteristic studies especially, I love em, hard as hell though, play one of those really clean and musical in an audition and you'll be golden.
  12. Before I even opened the thread I though Star 1990. Good choice! Also I would do.. 1986 Blue Devils 2007 or 2008 Crown studio recordings and 2007 BD's Studio recording 2007 Cadets opening hit and ending 1993 Star ending 1993 Blue Devils 2006-2008 Phantom Regiment 2008 Bluecoats ballad hit 1995 Madison and last but not least BD Studio recording of F Tuning
  13. 1: REGIMENT REPEAT!! 2-12: have all been slayed by a surprise ending finals night by Phantom, which includes but is not limited to Spartacus' Revenge, all Black uniforms, and a "short-out" of the stadium lights during retreat.
  14. Wayne Downey also has 5 more since he was the arranger for Syracuse Brigadiers during their championship years.

  16. they're too busy buying them online to post in the thread once they see it
  17. I loved 2008, what the brass was playing wen they were was VERY exciting to me. if only they played it more I would have enjoyed the show more possibly. Especially compared to 2006, 2006 was a borefest if you we're listening to the CD's, this is not the case with 08 for me. So Saucedo leaving I think will be good or bad depending on the new guy/gal. I think a step forward would be writing less layered brass parts and maybe add some volume, although hopefully without changing the rich sound they have. Hopefully the new arranger isn't a dynasty endorser
  18. Lord of The Rings, with music from the movie and by Johan De Meij
  19. I wouldn't say embrochure, but I do notice that even after a weekend (since I'm in DCA) of playing for 2 days on a dyNASTY small bore baritone, there is obviously quite a difference between that and my besson euphonium for sure, which takes a while to getting used to playing again, so that's the only issue I can think of, but no, it doesn't ruin your embrochure. (epic fail of the usage of sentences)
