  1. Now that's what I call forward planning.
  2. So what is it then? What are you saying?
  3. Michael Boo posted all three panels on DCP before prelims in this thread.
  4. Last year's slideshow is still on the DCI web site. http://www.dci.org/news/view.cfm?news_id=523ccd8f-de9a-47d2-9310-0844268d9c80 I think they used all of the photos I sent in.
  5. My thought exactly. First and only post, no follow-up. Classic troll.
  6. I like the way the DCP recaps highlight the top 3 in each caption. Somehow they are much more readable than the plain DCI recap sheets.
  7. So why don't DCI publish that information publicly? I can understand that it might change, but why not publish the information for specific shows on the day or day before so that we aren't dependent on someone with access to Downtown DCI?
  8. Where is the information about show times and judges published? It must be somewhere, and published well in advance, because the Phantom Regiment calendar has had the information for all of their shows up until July 9th for quite a while now. So where is it, why do we have to scratch around for it the day of a show?
  9. I've just been watching on my iPad via Safari and it works fine. Does that mean the VODs aren't Flash?
  10. This from the show web site may explain it Corps Performing Legends - Kalamazoo, Michigan** Blue Stars - La Crosse, Wisconsin* Bluecoats - Canton, Ohio* Glassmen - Toledo, Ohio* Troopers - Casper, Wyoming *also performing full encore standstill after intermission **standstill performance
  11. Home from work and having watched the England game, Fan Network is now working. No idea what was wrong there. Same computer, didn't have to log back in. But I will say that the quality of the videos seems better this year to me.
  12. I can see from postings that people have watched the Louisville VODs but for me they are showing as currently unavailable, error code VE_FMS_CONNECT_FAILED. Anyone else?
  13. From the Blue Stars Forum "I got this from a member, but apparently a trumpet fell and tripped another one, who fell over him. While falling she accidentally elbowed him."
  14. Has anyone overseas received their DVD yet? Still waiting in the UK. Ordered as part of Fan Network package including DVD.
  15. From the Roundtable forum - Answer: (from Dan Acheson, DCI Executive Director and CEO) The 2011 DCI Tour of Champions will be comprised of a series of eight events featuring the eight top corps from the 2010 World Championships. There has been no determination as to whether or not the events will continue in 2012 or how the corps will be selected if there should be another series. These are discussions that will be held later in 2011.

  17. I've just noticed reading through the DCI Finals schedule that warm ups have moved this year to the Military Park. I assume there will still be a shuttle bus from LOS.
  18. As Blue Stars parents we've stayed in the Omni and will be staying there again this year. I'll listen out for a Scots accent in the bar if you listen out for an English one. Le Peep?
  19. I can only say that for the three years I have booked tickets I have spoken to an agent and been able to explain what I was looking for and choose my seats. Maybe it's because I'm calling from the UK with an English accent. Try a different agent.
  20. If you're going through Ticketmaster talk to an agent. Then you can explain exactly what you want.
  21. Thank you. Why do we have to hunt around the web to find these things? The corps obviously have them, and well in advance judging by the PR diary, why don't DCI publish them on their web site?

  23. You're welcome. Here's a bit more perpective that may or may not help. We've been to prelims, semis and finals for the past two years. We've sat at mid-level for prelims, back row on the 50 for semis and front row on the 35 for finals. That way, as well as getting different views of the shows, we've also minimised the cost of the tickets while still getting good seats. This year that's $55 per seat for each show. And speak to an agent rather than using the web site or phone system - Ticketmaster's idea of the best available seats does not match up with a drum corps fan's. Mid-level gives good sound and ok view, although I still think the sound is good up high, plus you can see the forms brilliantly. And on the front row you get your face blown off, plus you get to see the kids up close, and you get to see all sorts of other stuff going on. The first year we were sat just above the announcer, you get to watch Mr Hopkins prowling up and down while Cadets are on, and you see the awards close up. Like I said, different perspectives. I realise it's not possible for everyone, but coming from the UK we try to make the most of it. And another point for skywhopper having just read your first post again, if you're just going to prelims you can probably wander round and try out various positions throughout the day because lots of seats don't get used for the whole time.
  24. Great pictures as always. Is it possible to buy them? Was it last year that someone wanted to buy one but couldn't?
