  1. What's the point of all of those wood grain drums that you can't see from a distance. They might as just post a picture of a <insert stain color here> drum.
  2. Spirit of Atlanta 1980, pretty much the entire show. Phantom Regiment 1982, first note of Entrance to Rome.
  3. Guardsmen, Geneseo Knights, Saginaires/Northern Aurora
  4. Well said, wise young trumpet. Many exceptional world class brass lines over the years have played on instruments that were a pieced together, hodgepodge of any piece of metal that could be made to resemble an instrument. I would have loved to play on new brass. The closest I ever came to that was using my own new mouthpiece.
  5. Thank you Phil. That is an interesting stat about the 8th place score but, thank you for congratulating the Blue Stars. I really did appreciate the efforts of every member of every corps this year. In spite of possibly hotter than average summer temperatures, every DCI member should be proud to have been part of an above average year for all corps. I think the scores this year may actually reflect that. I also want to say that I love how the Bluecoats perform. The Bluecoats had a great show to perform this year and every time I saw them, they made it even better by giving 100%. Congratulations Bluecoats on an outstanding season!
  6. You are absolutely right about voting for favorite corps vs favorite show. My favorite shows, Houdini & Metropolis.
  7. I agree except the section running is rarely the one playing!
  8. Everyone's really dirty right now. Regiment was awfully dirty in Kazoo.
  9. That is funny. Having seen the uniforms a few times, the grey color does seem to vary quite a bit depending on the lighting conditions. Even the star on the front stands out more or less depending on the light. I do like the blue satin around the collar. I love the Blue Stars show and am hoping to see it live again soon. Given the Houdini theme, I can't help but wonder what surprises of color, sound and movement they still have to add. This is a great year for drum corps. All the corps seem to have stepped up their game and are presenting some very entertaining shows for us to experience and support this year. I try to remind myself when I don't really care for a corps' uniforms or show that the performers don't have a say on either. The students involved in drum corps are exceptional and I hope they're all proud to wear their corps' uniform and perform their show.
  10. Huh. Trying really hard to justify your bias.
  11. Spirit of Atlanta 1980. One awesome hornline, best drum solo ever, and they knew how to crank one out.
