  1. At least have the intestinal fortitude to write out their full names.
  2. Serious, not trolly question: How many BAC fans would complain/rebel if Boston went the Bluecoats/Crown uniform route? Brasso calls out the problem with "traditional" unis, which is with all the body movement, even a well designed jacket and shako become cumbersome. As one of the three oldest corps and long on tradition (BAC, Cadets, Madison), would you have a major problem if Boston showed up on the field next year in a red and black "indoor" costume? With no shakos? I'm not sure how I feel about it. Maybe something like Cavies did where there's a more traditional uni (or elements) for parade and ceremonial use? This is a genuine question--not trying to stir the pot.
  3. Counterpoint: it's hard to get a real number when you're floating between tiers. I don't know. This season is crazy. :)
  4. To be fair, Boston doesn't usually get the benefit of a home show bump. Look at East Coast Classic from this year as an example. Even if the numbers are inflated, it's the spreads that are important. Take the spread up to Cavies and down to Mandarins and OC and if the score is legit, they're back in the hunt for 10-12. A-town will certainly prove or disprove this. Hopefully this gives the team a much needed confidence bump going into the last week of the season.
  5. Respectfully, I think the issue is it's not always congenial. And whether it's worse in other threads or not, there have still been plenty of comments in this thread that although they do not violate DCP's terms of service, are less than congenial. I don't think anyone would or could logically argue that DCP isn't a home for intelligent discourse about the activity, including armchair quarterbacking the show design, but there are a handful of people, including some KNOWN alumni, who have been less than subtle with their digs. In short, C. I don't think you're the problem. I would just say that remember that kids (they are still kids, and the adults aren't hiding behind them) do read these forums, and that SSF has cordially invited you to say anything that could be perceived as *more* or *overly* critical to the organization directly to him and to pass that on to the necessary parties, rather than invite bickering in an open thread.
  6. Holy cow BAC tied for 4th in percussion!
  7. I think its Test Drive from How to Train Your Dragon. It's woven throughout the show(soloist at beginning) and finally gets full treatment after the Zimmerman piece.
  8. KP whats your read on Boston/Cavies/Bluecoats?
  9. Ding ding, we have a winner! :) From Boston's website: "The grey jackets that the corps are wearing this season are inspired by the West Point Cadet uniforms that then Senator John F. Kennedy helped the corps acquire in 1959. As the Crusaders evolved from the Most Precious Blood Crusaders into the Hyde Park Crusaders and then into the Boston Crusaders, with those changes came uniform and management changes. Following two years of performing in red and black, in 1959, the newly christened Boston Crusaders found themselves without uniforms for the season. John F. Kennedy stepped in and helped the corps purchase West Point uniforms directly from the United States Military Academy for the rumored price of $1 each. The corps wore various versions of this uniform that season until the standard red and black was reintroduced in 1960."
  10. Wow! Check out Boston's equipment truck!
  11. Wherever you think Boston is going to place, it will be one place higher. Except for craiga; you're right. :thumbup:/> You heard it here first.
  12. Sorry Bud, you are incorrect. The preshow looks like its 8 to 5 but there is a ton of jazz running in BACs show. Maybe you Can't see it because of the black pants vs. Crown's white?
  13. While you're waiting for Murfreesboro to wrap, 20 minutes left to donate to either Madison or Boston in the Old School Challenge. http://shop.crusaders.com/Old_School_Challenge_P3808C181.cfm http://www.madisongear.com/The-Old-School-Challenge-REMATCH_p_212.html Both corps can use the help! Pick your favorite, or pick both!
  14. I was wondering what everyones favorite parts of Boston's show is. Not interested in the parts you don't like, or the parts that could be better, just the part you like best. I like the part when the corps splits to both end zones and keeps playing the whole way. I think that's my fav. I know others have said they liked the baritone solo, or the 1812 hit. What's your favorite? ..............................................................50...........................................................
  15. To give Granny the benefit of the doubt, I bet Madison mixes their thunderous goo better than some others and perhaps that's why she didn't notice. It is a shame (and I think Granny will agree) that thunderous goo is now an expected part of a hornline's sound. ***not trying to derail the thread.
  16. Granny, I'm curious--did the Scouts have any sounds coming out of *their* massive banks of speakers?
