Seriously...a singing category at I&E!?!? This is just getting ridiculous. Why not add juggling and uni-cycle riding as well.

The Troopers desperately need a new pit tech. And I am talking about someone with experience. Not someone who just aged out, or still in school. They need someone who has a few years under their belts, who can bring the Troopers pit up to Top 12 caliber. Last year was just not that good. Individually there were some strong players but together as an ensemble I noticed a lot of different technique issues. No one matched each other's technique. If you cant fix the fundamental stuff.......

The concert, which were the Latin Grammys, was in Las Vegas and all the performers are part of the Vegas Vanguard Indoor/Entertainment drumline. They are all from Las Vegas, not LA. And they were performing on their own Pearl drums.

Anyone know why SCV Cadets are heading home and not competing in finals competition?

I am not a fan of the show, except the opening visual. Although the "ballad" is nice, to me the show doesnt go anywhere. And I am not sure about the trumpet/soprano "screecher" near the end. He misses the notes more than he hits them. Perhaps it is time to remove that part or get a different soloist. But at least they are out there trying.

I hope DCI doesnt book a show here next year. If they do they need to turn off that large scoreboard in the end zone. Did anyone else find the noise from the large fans in the scoreboard distracting?

Has anyone ever heard of Darren Hazlett..aka Tweety? Rumor has it he was supposed to be in the 92 X-Men snare line at age 14 he was that good.....but was too small to carry the drum. You'll see him in the pit that year. Went on to march who knows how many years with X-Men...finally aging out in the late 90's.

I heard they have a new tour director this year....is this true? How are they handling this change? Why did the tour director leave?

For those of you that have seen the change in this activity over time this would mainly apply to you. I was a drum corps participant 16 years ago. After that I have been behind the scenes for several corps working in many capacities. Having seen what these kids go through now a days, (i.e. the corps fees, extensive travel, show demands) if i had the opportunity, I am not sure if I would do it again. Call it being 35 years old and lazy but i think it is like night and day compared to 15+ years ago. I am not saying it was easy 15 years ago. Maybe if I was 15 years younger I would have a different mindset. So would you march again today?

The question is....how hot will the female guard members look this year? Dont think they could top last year. That female guard captain can handle my apples any time.

keep in mind that dynasty drum could have come straight out of the box....every drum comes with a standard plastic head.

Now that we have heard many teasers of the brass...how bout we focus on the battery/pit.

I think it was 2006...Crossmen I believe it was the "radio" show. One of the "new" Crossmen shows I have come to like since they made the move to San Antonio. Bluecoats 2008...as cheesy as the "Rocky" theme was I think it was a great show. And who could forget the "speed bag" bass drum solo?

Please define "a song from Glee".

Hopefully the guard will be as hot, if not hotter than last year (at least the females anyway).

hornandsoccer why did you have to have your shamwow's replaced? I used them for at least 2 tours in a row and have never had a problem with them as far as the getting ruined. But this year I am not going to use them. I wasnt to happy with them. This year I am going to use an actual chamois called The Absorber. You can wash and dry off with it. Just ring out and store it in the tube it came with. It is better for it to stay wet and it wont produce mildew. I got it for less than $10 at Wally.

Instead of a full size towel bring a chamois to dry off after a shower. Takes up less space and you dont need to hang it somewhere to dry.

Some other show sites are now being named: July 5: Tri Cities, WA = Pasco, WA July 18: Iowa= West Des Moines, IA August 3: Massilon, OH...Pro Football Hall of Fame website is saying Massilon Stadium, but DCI doesnt have any info. Any idea why this show isnt at Fawcett?
