  1. In addition to my earlier reply, I think the answer is someone who has never won before
  2. Had to vote #3. #1 is way too busy for me, and # 2 doesn't really make sense to me thematically.
  3. Corps Name: Cape Cod Privateers Corps Division: Open Corps Hometown and Region Centerville, MA Northeast www.drumcorpsfantasy.com username: dasboot Homeshow site and venue request: Hyannis, MA Barnstable High School Corps Name: The New Islanders Corps Division: A

  5. My activities outside of drum corps/ marching are: Working as a lifeguard Going to college (learning acoustic guitar for credit. Professor lets me write my own parts to every song.) Taking lessons with my drum instructor and performing monthly with one of his classes Reading (Stephen King, Johnathan Kellerman & John Grisham mostly, but pretty much anything) Preparing for the zombie apocalypse Going to the gym Preparing gear and music for my summer job of teaching music at a summer camp. (Kids really like Bluecoats 1990)
  6. I got into drum corps in November of 2008. I will continue to support the activity no matter what changes are made to it. As long as those who are marching put out an entertaining show, then I will go, no matter what the instrumentation. That being said, I want some corps to go back to G bugles and no synths.
  7. I like the idea of marching Renegades, but there is the minor detail of me living on Cape Cod and flying to San Francisco for camps
  8. Haven't marched yet. That being said, I want some corps, ANY corps, to do a show on g bugles.
  9. Vibram five finger shoes in corps colors would be amazing. EDIT: Actually, a Corps wearing them for competition would be amazing http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/index.htm
  10. Brass: Jim Ott, Tom Lukowicz, Wayne Downey Percussion: Martin Vazquez (taught Colin McNutt and Boston '88.) Guard: Daniel Riley Visual: Todd Ryan
  11. I am not a member of the Cadets. I have not yet marched, but I plan to. Therefore, my comments may be invalid. That being said, if George Hopkins believes that this is a good idea, then I think that he has the right to try it. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. If it does, it does. I sincerely hope that nobody boos them this year, and that they put out an amazing show. As longs those guys and girls entertain the fans, then I don't believe it matters what they wear, even if they go out wearing pink bunny outfits. Also, I believe that it is wrong for people to copy our posts from here onto the Facebook page, no matter how positive it is if it is not theirs. That is all.
  12. I posed this question back in November. Here are two of my really useful sources http://www.middlehornleader.com/Evolution%20of%20the%20Bugle.htm http://www.oocities.com/marchingresearch/bonsym97.txt

  14. It's too bad. Whenever a circuit dies a little more of this activity we love dies too. Hopefully the rest of the European Corps stay strong and continue to keep the activity alive.
  15. Find a local, well established not-for-profit organization and talk to the CEO or the like and spin them some feel good stuff about how it will make the organization look great for providing an activity for all ages. Start as a parade corps and slowly build up to entering DCI
  16. Can't wait to hear those two songs on the field! I am sensing good things from Bones this Summer
  17. I always thought you had to make a sacrifice of all your contras to George Hopkins and then pledge your life to the goal of getting Woodwinds Legalized in order to move up. Is my whole belief system a lie?
  18. 1) Spirit of Atlanta - Played Harlem Nocturne in my college jazz band and love it so I can't wait to see what they do with it. 2) Jersey Surf - They always do good shows that leave me thoroughly entertained. 3) Crossmen - If they are doing no electronics like has been said, it will be awesome. Other Contenders for my top 3 Cascades - seeing them thru fan network only Madison Scouts Boston Crusaders Pioneer Phantom Regiment
  19. Gonna beat Ream on this one, but whoever has the highest score will win
  20. The black attachment is called a B.E.R.P
  21. Have any of those corps besides Madison and SOA said anything about what they're playing? Do you know that their shows will be dark, or are you just inferring that? Sorry if I sound like I'm accusing you but it seems like you are being very pessimistic based on a little information in January...
  22. Camp is indeed 6 days away. However, I find it hard to feel like dancing, especially where I don't know how I am getting to the Camp from Philadelphia on the 15th... Not trying to be depressing or anything, just really need some help so I can get to the camp
  23. I have a problem. My corps, The New Islanders, was entered in the Dayton, OH event, but my corps was not scored. Why did this happen?
