You know - We have a fairly basic JVC theater in a box with a 55" HDTV and I just put it on the "Movie" setting in 5.1 surround and it fills my living room with sound. Don't see the need for anything fancier than that. Perfect for the Drum Corps Blu-Rays.

I think DCI should hire Stu as their financial watchdog.

OK then - Not sure what your point is here but I've seen your son's video and he's quite the talented drummer.

I get it sir - My Dad #####es and moans all the time about the dancing, prancing, artsy, fartsy, and mostly the electronics. As much as he hates those changes in drum corps he still encouraged me to give it a try and it was the best thing I could have ever done. Imagine his reaction when I said I was trying out for the guard instead of the drumline (I was the center snare in my high school line). Guess what - as much as he despises all that you seem to despise - he still supported me and now we have something to share together for life. Get over it - drum corps has changed and will continue to do so. I bet in a few years there will be stuff I hate about it too but I'll never stop cherishing that he and I do at least one DCI show a year together. To address your actual question: There's nothing "we" can do to change it. Until the talented folks who design drum corps shows decide to go backwards (which they will never do) you just have to get used to it or stop paying attention.

Again - when the hornline FINALLY played BK were fantastic. The drumline was good. Too much prancing and flitting about. Spirit had the crowd in their hands - BK did not.... The judges got it wrong.

I'm not going to get into a religious discussion on DCP. It just isn't a good idea to invite folks with an agenda on tour with a corps who needs to concentrate on being a corps. They just get in the way.

Normally I look for clean but from start to finish I didn't even care to judge Surf. They were just too much fun. Should DCI go in this direction? Hells Yes!

They were really very good this year but this is a little over top don't you think? "best in technical detail in the history of the activity so far" - A very bold statement for a show that was solidly beaten by the first place corps.

I just saw on Facebook that Chris Komnick is the director of the year! Great News!

Only Phantom 2008. It was the best show of the year and deserved to win. As good as the two Crown shows are/were - they were 2nd best and were scored correctly. Crown has the best 2nd place show of 2012.
