  1. Most likely because of weather - but I'm no weatherman, so don't quote me on that.
  2. Hehe no, sorry. I had a little too much fun thinking about this post lol Reminds me a bit of the rumors suggesting the show tittle would be "The Deep" haha, although Wikipedia says thats the show title, so it must be true... Based on some talk I heard earlier this year, I wanted to toss another similarly named piece as the closer instead of that, but I heard there were copyright issues surrounding that piece. Since you specifically mentioned Tresona, I figured it would be best if I didn't use that in a joke post...
  3. Troopers '17 rep list: Neil Diamond - America Ennio Morricone - A Fistful Of Dollars Fleetwood Mac - The Chain An original piece John Williams - Battle of Heroes
  4. one notecard, front and back, for the entire season
  5. obviously if you're the last corps to announce your show you'll win /s
  6. Thanks for the audio samples! That 1993 sample is pristine! I performed spectral analysis of the loud final sustains from the 1993 recording and 2012 recording (shifted to G) with a program I coded up some months ago. The x-axis is in Hz, although I can't guarantee the validity of the axis markers, I believe I ran into some issues with them when I was working on this. I'm no expert in this, nor am I trying to be one :) 1993 2012 (shifted) It is interesting to see how clean of a recording the 1993 version is when compared to the 2012 version.
  7. No we haven't seen the contract - which can be considered the important part.
  8. Where is the contract? Many here have seen stipulations where the marching member receiving financial assistance must march at the same organization the following year, or pay back their "scholarship." I've seen the opposite, where a credit was simply applied to the marching members balance. No contract was drafted or signed for those examples of financial assistance.
  9. Some more parking info here: http://www.campingworldstadium.com/plan-your-visit/directions-parking http://www.campingworldstadium.com/assets/doc/Camping-World-Map-No-Taxi-2-1e23351f8e.pdf From my (limited) experience, when they do a DCI show at Camping World Stadium, its a large crowd.
  10. You'll most likely need to call for a taxi, or use Uber. I personally wouldn't expect taxis to be waiting around the stadium. Parking around International Drive is normally very busy, and thus a mess to navigate. It might be easier to park downtown Orlando in a parking garage, and then take a taxi/Uber to and from the garage to the stadium. About a 30minute drive to International Drive from the stadium.

  12. Depends heavily on the major and internship itself. Some degrees require internships-certain arts degrees for example-and not only are they unpaid, but there is a fee associated with it on the schools end. On the other hand, you rarely have STEM internships that are unpaid. In this case housing, food, and travel are taken care of-not exactly paid, but many things are taken care of...
  13. Just to clarify further, they haven't had camps in Wyoming since 2014 (or January 2015). Even now on their site they have the dates and locations for all their future camps, with them all being in Mesquite Texas. Move in have been in Indiana since 2012 (and part of 2011).
  14. Over the past, say, 5 years-ish, there have been more members from Japan than from Wyoming.
  15. Spectral analysis of the two recordings, at :55-:57 and 4:20-4:25 The x-axis is frequency (hz), (think a-440, etc) Disclaimer: not an audio engineer (or a musician), so I don't actually know what I'm talking about 2002 2003 Seems hard to compare those two examples with the drop off in frequencies above 5000hz in the 2002 example.
  16. The visual and guard caption heads there departed the organization early into the season.
  17. Heard the police arrived, were shown the video, and informed Tim S he could press charges against the stadium worker.
  18. JessOnTheRun was another alias. fun stuff, practically commented on every single drum corps video in existence back in 2008ish
  19. MissySampson1 some other aliases I can't recall atm. might be easier to just close comments anyways
  20. don't bother, thats a well known internet "troll" that periodically goes around DCI youtube videos slamming corps and members. on a different account said troll claimed to have multiple rings, taught at various organizations, etc. youtube periodically deletes the account, they just come back under a different name
