As a member of this staff, I can say that you are very incorrect. There are no new Brigs that haven't been on the staff for years. Sorry to cut through with some truth, but this can all be verified on this same message board. How about this idea, come to the show this weekend and buy a ticket. You can see all of the corps and provide your opinions on what you see that night, as opposed to what is being written on this satirical message board. You might enjoy that more. Hope to see you there.

Membership Day 2014 - Reading Buccaneers
doppeljr replied to TomMoore's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
I remember. Want me to walk you through it? -
I think the Bushwacker rule is gone, but no issues either way. Noone cared what the Bushwackers did until we started winning. That rule was a move of desperation in hopes of slowing us down at the time. Hey, the Sunriser tie breaker was added around that time and look at what that did. If this really became an issue for any corps these days, they can get around it.

I cheer every time one of our horn players plays a correct fingering... in my head.

People who have influenced you?
doppeljr replied to BrassMan09's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
I have been around some great instructors, both as a marching member and as an instructor myself. I can say that my biggest influence has come from Dennis Argul. His wisdom is plentiful and his skill set is pretty solid. -
It's just the way it is and it is not a big deal. They will be released after finals.

DCA Aug.25: Reading and Bridgeport
doppeljr replied to Fran Haring's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
It used to be allowed, many years ago. We had drill forms over the sideline in the early '90s. Makes no sense now why it isn't any more. -

A few of the scores are a bit different due to score recording errors. -

Cadets2 question...
doppeljr replied to drumcorpsdrummerman2012's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
Wow, another 8 pages of posts on a drum corps that has had one camp and noone in this thread is directly involved with. Lots of speculation here. Why is everyone so upset that they have an age limit? Are you upset because you cannot march there or would you even march there if you could? In my opinion, the sole reason that C2 was formed is to close the loop for the Cadets as a whole and to keep their cut members or people who decide they can't do C1 from going to other DCA corps and never going back to Cadets at all. We have had plenty of them in Bucs and I am sure other corps have as well. This is the Cadets way of keeping everyone in-house. The real issues are the exorbitant cost for a senior corps. That will be a big issue for many as well as the usual issues with recruiting. I know it would be for me. Please become familiar with the hoops that a new corps in DCA has jump through in order to ever hit the field. They get a pretty serious review of their organization, finances, etc. and then they get to draw for shows, after all of the member corps and existing corps pick where they will perform. This does not set the stage very well for them to "rock the circuit." I do not see any issue with them at all. -
Fan Network Webcast of DCA Prelims
doppeljr replied to rimshotcsm's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
It worked great for me. Twenty bucks well spent. I had no buffering issues on my end. DSL to wifi to laptop connected to TV. The content between the corps could be improved, but I understand that it is tricky to get it right with a live broadcast. I was impressed. Thanks for doing it. -
What's the best Sr. Corps ever?
doppeljr replied to wolfgang's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
Wolfgang, Take a look at the corps who have won a championship, or multiple championships, or corps that have been around for a long time. It would be difficult to pick just one, or a few as there are quite a few that fit into all of those categories. Take a look at some of the corps info on this site - http://www.corpsreps.com/corpslist.cfm and see what you think. There is a lot of info there. Hope this helps. -
Annapolis for the next two years.

Finally, a real football field. This will be one of the few actual football fields in the last 25 years. Hershey, Allentown, Annapolis. That's it. -
That was a fun season.
