Have you checked with Steve Vickers @ Drum Corps World or the DCX - Drum Corps Museum?

I remember the local shows and not so far shows. They were great for DCE, DCM and I do not know about DCW. Fairly steady income for the corps for those shows in the early part of the season. I also remember the DCE and DCM corps participating in Football Bowl Parades, halftime shows, and even the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Great memories!

Yes and Yes! Go for it. Audition now and they will assist you in making improvements for your next audition. You never know until you try. You may want to consider a lower level corps for your first audition.

I think that the NCAA and others are incorrect in paying a person for their (NIL) Name, Image and Likeness. And then, that same person who receives the NIL payments opts out of the final competition. Drum corps is different!!!

I personally think DCI should continue as it is; and, try to work out a deal with NCAA to receive funding. I truly believe that DCI should remain as a more education/high performance level activity for 14-21 year young adults, since what’s so special about the activity. Drum corps does indeed make a young adult a much better person.

Is anyone selling 2022 DCA Championship patches and/or T-Shirts? Last year DCA has a store managed by Steam Stack LLC. DCA no longer has a store on its website.

Excellent article. You forgot to mention the veterans groups - American Legion and VFW. I totally agree that we need to go back to regional and local competitions. Try to keep traveling and costs to a minimum. What if only the regional champions went on to National DCI? I understand that some corps may have a bad show at regionals and miss out on Nationals.
