  1. Score Difference Between 4th and 5th Place 1998 - 3.40 1999 - 2.70 2000 - 2.35 2001 - 1.05 2002 - 3.25 2003 - 0.05 2004 - 2.025 2005 - 0.80 Compared to recent years, I'd say 0.8 is pretty close.
  2. sounds like he's not happy with the drill writer...
  3. When I clicked this, it took me to the forum home page. I think I found the link you're talking about in the Guestbook. The thread is "Pics/Video."
  4. SCV aussies, but helmets are a very close 2nd for me. Shakos are soo over over-used.
  5. 1. Santa Clara - I pretty much anticipate seeing them most every year. 2. Cavaliers - a band I write for decided on a machine-themed show before Cavies announced theirs, so I'm anxious to compare our ideas with theirs. 3. Bluecoats - Aquarius! 4. Phantom Regiment - MAHLER! 5. Blue Devils - after seeing Blueview 7, I think I'm gonna dig this show. 6. Crown - great source material 7. Madison Scouts - because... they're the Scouts.
  6. Interesting. I have a CD of Marsalis's "Sweet Release" and figured the one part would probably be used when Cavies said they'd be using his music. Great selection!
  7. My girlfriend's ex boyfriend claimed to be in the tenor line of SCV '98. HA.
  8. I wish they'd just dig out the 02-04 uniforms... I miss them.
  9. I like the sophisticated, abstract, arcane show announcements. Why??? Because it requires the reader to THINK! Imagine that - a drum corps audience... that actually... THINKS! Why is sophistication thought by some to be a bad thing? It gives you MORE to listen for, MORE to watch for, and MORE subtleties to pick up everytime you see the show! Corps that just tell me "this is what we're playing" offer me little to look forward to. I'd be just as happy hearing them announce what they're playing right before they perform the show.
  10. 1. 2003 Santa Clara Vanguard 2. 1993 Star of Indiana (very very very close 2nd) 3. 1999 Madison Scouts 4. 1995 Madison Scouts 5. 1992 Velvet Knights 6. 2002 Cavaliers 7. 1990 Star 8. 1991 Crossmen 9. 1992 Santa Clara Vanguard 10. 2002 Crossmen 11. 2001 Madison Scouts 12. 2002 Seattle Cascades
  11. OT sorry... Jim: love the Woodrow Wilson quote in your signature. He was a great speaker, I've found a ton of great quotes of his lately.
  12. I had two Danielpour CDs on my list to buy, and go figure, I picked the one that does not contain Urban Dances or Celestial Night. I bought the Concert for Orchestra / Anima Mundi CD (SCV did Anima Mundi at the end of their 2003 "Pathways" show). Guess I'll have to buy the other one. Maybe I can find it on iTunes. In any event, Danielpour is an incredibly talented composer. I wish Crown the best of luck with this and look forward to seeing their show on the field.
  13. Blue Devils 2004. Wow. Hon Mentions: PR 03, 05 Cavies 04 Bluecoats 05 Crown 05
  14. Nope. If you don't want to hear comments that naturally evolve from competition, please, go to an exhibition show.
