Thank you. You just described ME. I was meerly a lead sop at the time but when our DM left.....and unknown to me..........my peers said..."we want you out in front.." HUH...? Not trying to blow my own horn (pun intended) but makes me wonder how many other DM's were selected in some fashion other than running for that position. Mine was purely a combination of accident and necessity at the time. (I was pretty good though...) Just sayin.........

May I suggest you re-read Rule #1 with reference to I&E at DCA as MiniCorps' participants fall under the same pervue. Just sayin...........

Your statement seems to characterise fans as favoring one particular Corps' over another by geographical region. HUH...? Been doin' this since is was 15 (now 67). Fans know what they like and react in kind. South, North, Midwest, West, Mars, Tibet, DUK, BF Egypt, they know what they like and the gate receipts will eventually (over time) show it. Again.....it has little, if anything, to do with region. Fans are Fans and they will go wherever it takes them to get that Drum Corps' FIX. Human nature says they will respond appropriatly. Just sayin.............

You don't suppose it's because they (Statesmen) play to the fans do you..? Music people recognize, so to speak. Just sayin...........

Middle age Corps' members......Really...? Doesn't the term "ALL AGE" suggest something to you...? Aside from the fact that this is a function at and created by DCA I&E as a sub group for entertaiment purposes your suggestion leaves open this venue for basically anyone and everyone. Why not petition NASCAR? While on the subject........why doesn't DCI offer this option...? Just sayin........

Been reading these posts with a lot of interest. Been there since 1993....got a few medals. I remember playing in the dark, stages, slanted parking lots, on the field, etc. etc. for crowds of maybe 200-300 beer drinking, loud cajolling (is that a word...? I think so...) fans, blah blah, blah.....We're now at roughly 3,000 fans. WHERE'S THE PROBLEM...? The entrants no what to expect......the Fans know what to expect............If it ain't broke....etc. etc. etc............ Just sayin..........

Your Drum Corps' Credentials are impecable and your experience, time and devotion for the betterment of the Drum Corps' community, IMO, should not even be questioned.
