  1. well, you're getting those in domes now too :P
  2. from reading reviews, it seems narration in domes sucks. since dci is going to domes more and more, why chance it?
  3. I keep reading reviews of shows in domes where people complain about the accosutics, and especially how narration isn't carrying well. is it just some people that feel this way, or is it a shared impression by many fans in domes...and if so, given how this activity requires good accoustics, why do we keep having big shows in domes?
  4. Nikk, sorry for the delay in reading...my phone rang, and well, i felt like #### well answering it :P great review, and i hope mine next week matches your in tone of catching stuff, venom, and trashing old RAMD enemies :P
  5. Joe, i believe a clarification came out that if only one DCA corps was present, they went on D2/3 sheets
  6. 3rd generation Westshoremen here. conceived at DCA finals. at my first rehearsal at 5 days old. yeah i'd say it's in my genes.
  7. tho for you long time Kilted ones, i think a 73, even on D2/3 sheets is a record high
  8. having seen both, i understand your concerns not having seen both. if i were ES, i'd really want to fix the fact that they are performer over the book consistently in Ge music, and why on the recap i see book equal with performer in many areas. i cant believe all the judges are that bad as to take the easy way out and flatline each subcaption. one would think with a month to go that they weren't outperforming their book or close to it. the truly funny thing is even being performer over the book in GE music, they still won the caption as well as increased the spread over Bucs in brass.
  9. i have been around yes. i remember being 3 points up on July 6th, and winning by .1 at finals. 2 points is a few tenths in each subcaption.
  10. new owners, new policies and funding in place
  11. 2 points with a month to go is nothing dude. and spreads always tighten in August
  12. i'm saying somewhere in the last few years a change was made. it used to be cool to gut it out. Cavies drills arent that much more insance than they were then, and Sun performed in the worst conditions I have EVER seen. i just wonder why the change
  13. hey i get blamed for everything else, i just wanted to clear my name this time :P
  14. Allentown in 93...monsoon opened up on Cavies. they finished like men. DCA 99 in Allentown...half the show took place in a hurricane. Sunrisers had it worst and finished their show like champs
  15. aside from the occasional Chuck King screw up, i think they usually get it right. this year i finally feel that some corps arent getting breaks solely on name, but i thinkthat in a few cases it has happened. Overall tho, i feel they do a realy great job with the criteria they are given.
  16. btw i believe Kilties and Chops scores this weekend were on DCI sheets
  17. i never said they couldnt have opinions. you can have an opinion and not attack people. and if you dont like mine, feel free to use the ignore feature.
  18. i am very glad established corps are helping out. i do think that's great. but when you have local corps not out...and not by their choice when there are no other options, it does kinda blow.
  19. how beneficial are they if kids get zapped and fans get robbed to see corps perform? not like these shows give refunds for rainouts.
  20. well since we cant hear inflection, that crutch helps
